Wanted

Shota/Els
_

There he was, a slouched over black lump wearing headphones crammed over his messy black hair again as he typed. This rendered him unnaproachable, as he would be listening too intently to speak to anyone. If anybody dared he would become so hostile the person would apologize profusely and then flee. He hadn't been so cruel to her, of course, but he did get jumpy when she tried.

Elly sighed dismally and sat down at her computer to get her work done for the day. All week long Aizawa had been busy, or wearing those damn things, or out with his friend. Hizashi had been tight-lipped for once, not talking about whatever it was they might be doing during times she wanted to spend with him alone.

She missed him.

Elly moped around that night, waiting for him to come home after a very late - now early morning -- patrol. She had the radio turned on to Present Mic's program and was listening like usual, laying about in bed and fooling around on some stupid game on her phone. The music lowered and the cheerful Voice Hero popped back on again, advising his listeners that he had a very special request. This was odd enough that she perked an ear, paying a bit more attention.

Mic paused, then rolled right along into his lower pitched, serious voice. "This next song goes out to a very lucky kitten known simply as this man's 'queen'."

Her ears snapped upright and she dropped her phone on her stomach.

Wait, what?

"The scruffy bastard is working hard right now, but wants you to know how much he misses you when you're apart, and that he loves you very much. Here goes."

She turned it up, realizing in a burst of intuition this is what he had been doing all week: picking a song. The music started and Elly started to laugh even as she cried.

"Country," she wheezed under her breath. "He picked a country song."

Of course she couldn't quite hear if she wasn't paying attention, so she stifled her giggles and listened. The song was a man telling his beloved that he wanted to "wrap them up" and make them feel safe, warm, and very much wanted. She hadn't thought Shota picked up on her insecurities, but she realized she should have known better. Nothing escaped the man. The theme was punnish but clear as well, and quite adorable. His capture thread was part of him, and he wrapped people up indeed. As the song faded out she turned the radio off and laid back on their bed, closing her eyes. He had gone through all that trouble for one moment where he could communicate romantically with her. She sniffled and wiped at her eyes with a crumpled tissue.

When Aizawa came home later that morning he went directly to bed, shedding bits of his hero costume along the way until he wore only a pair of gray boxer briefs. She threw back the sheets so he could crawl under with her.

"I heard it."

"Good." He kissed her lips gently. "I'm still awake, but just barely." He yawned. "I took today off so we can spend the day together, though. Talk more then, okay?"

"Perfect." She snuggled close, not caring that he was sweaty. He grunted, threw his arms and legs around her and was soon asleep. Elly sighed and soon followed his example, smiling sweetly in complete comfort.
