Rule 63 -14

Els/Zashi/Shota
_

It worked.

Elly hopped around anxiously, wriggling her body this way and that. "Everything is back to the way I was! Oh my god, thank you!" She embraced the person, who smiled faintly.

"I'm glad my quirk helped you."

"You more than helped," she gushed. "I feel like you saved my life. It was so - so... well, you don't need to hear thst What you need to hear is thank you."

Aizawa bowed to them gratefully. "Thank you very much."

The only one not celebrating was Hizashi. He had taken the time when they left to gather what belongings he had brought over and move back to his apartment. The trips took longer that expected as he kept dropping things from sobbing so hard. His eyes were puffy and red and his glasses so stained with tears he could barely see out of them. He didn't bother cleaning them, however, because he would just mess them right back up. When he had eradicated all traces that he had ever lived with them he flopped onto his bed and curled into a ball.

He tried to stop crying.

He couldn't.

It's just that everything reminded him of her as - as a him. It had been a perfect twist of fate when he found out.

The blond man hadn't had a lack of partners his whole life, that was certain. He could hook up with almost anyone he wanted to right away. He was well built, well known and his gorgeous, long blond hair all combined to make him desirable. What he wanted, what he craved - was love. She had been such a good friend he had wondered quite a few times what it would have been like if she had been male. Why would things be given to him and then torn so brutally from his grasp?

"Why couldn't she love me?!"

"She does, you ass."

Hizashi leaped to his feet with a startled gasp. The shadowy figure in his doorway sighed wearily, and he relaxed instantly. Only one man he knew could sound that tired and still be moving.

"How'd it go?"

Aizawa stepped into the faint bedroom light. "She's back the way she was."

"Oh." He swallowed past the blockage in his throat. "Good," he managed to whisper.

"Yeah, Zashi... you don't hide your emotions very well. You're upset. But so was she." He sat on the edge of the ned, his hands in his pockets. "I was wrong to lead you on with her like that. I thought it might be a good solution. Instead it hurt both of you."

"B - both?"

"She's very guilty. She thinks she cheated on me, and she knows you are in pain. I explained the one side, but you two will have to work the other out yourselves."

"I can't..!"

"Not right away, dumbass." He stood, knees popping lightly. "Whenever you finish grieving. She'll be there. She still cares for you. Love isn't simple, and friends can care about one another deeply."

He left his friend a tiny spark of hope that things might not be too bad after all. It might take a long time, but at least she was his friend.
