Moy Mell 24

Elly was furious at herself. Like most cats, she harbored a fondness for back rubs, and she had been so damned tired that day the creepy-grinning bastard had actually put her to sleep. She vowed it would not happen again. He would not get a chance to touch her at all, no matter what asinine thing he said to throw her off guard or how fuzzy her brain was from lack of rest.

It wouldn't have been that way with Zoro. She would have welcomed him touching her. Thinking back, she wondered if he had ever rubbed lotion on her back. No, she knew the answer. It was a resounding negative. He hadn't crossed any of those lines, ever.

It wasn't as though Aizawa's touch was abhorrent, and that angered her even more.

The bodyguard with her at the moment was having a difficult time keeping up as she stormed out of the main compound, making her way early to the complex where the guys lived. This was ridiculous  - she was going to talk with Zoro and straighten everything out. Unfortunately, as she walked swiftly along the paths leading up to the apartment building, she didn't notice the guard following her had been swapped out.

Zoro groaned in disgust when he heard someone knocking at his door. He rolled off his weight bench and yanked it open swiftly, glaring at whoever had the gall to disturb him. His eye widened when he saw Elly standing there, her tail slashing rapidly through the air behind her.

"I thought I said..." He began, but she cut him off.

"Please, you have to come back."

He let out a gust of air. "My decision has been made. No."

She reached out towards him but he jerked back slightly. He winced when he saw her eyes widen incredulously. "Zoro..?"

"I told you, it'll be better if you and I don't see each other for awhile. Get used to Aizawa." He tried to close the door but she pushed her arm through and he stopped before she could be hurt. "Stupid cat!"

"<i>Please</i>," she whispered, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. "Please, I - I want you."

Zoro bit his tongue so hard he tasted blood. He would not be that selfish. And so, for her own good, he raised a clenched fist and smashed the doorframe so hard she yelped and jumped back in fright. "<i>Get out, damn it!</i> And don't come back here again!"

The door slammed directly in her face.

Elly stood there for a full minute, tears streaming down her face. She placed a trembling hand on the wood, then set her forehead on it, sobbing very softly. She could not know that he was holding his hand out as well on the other side but held it there for a long time before she sank down towards the carpeted hallway.

Aizawa caught her.

Though she had sworn she would not let him help her again she was too stunned to resist. He had relieved the guard on duty when he realized where she was going, and swept in to minimize her discomfort. He picked her up and carried her out of the building as others peeked out at them from opened doors. No one spoke and the only sound was her light gasps for air as she cried.

Once back in the mansion he placed her on her favorite couch in the living room and carefully watched as she curled into a painful ball, hiding her face in the fluffy pillows.

"Hey." The blond cook wandered over from the kitchen and he spoke very softly. "She okay?"

Aizawa shook his head, his long, dark hair swaying. "She went to see Zoro. He told her to leave."

Sanji sucked air in through his teeth. "The bastard," he muttered. "I bet he tried to scare her off, didn't he?"

The other man nodded wearily.

"That's not going to sit well with her when she snaps out of this."

"Perhaps." He scrutinized the demon woman as she scratched futilely at the soft cloth pillows. "I'll handle it," he shrugged. "Somehow."
