A Much-Needed Nap

Aizawa sunk lower into his couch, his eyes slipping closed as the fabric cushioned his neck and head. He was, for once, so drained of energy he had no plans to go on patrol tonight. The agency had quickly found a replacement for him when he called in so he felt no guilt. Taking care of yourself was a necessity; doing so properly simple logic. And right now his body was screaming at him for rest. He sighed and started to breathe evenly and deeply.

That's how Elly found him an hour later when she came home from grocery shopping. She stood for a moment with the large paper sack in her arms, watching as he snored. He had slunk further down, still in a seated position. Since he hadn't undressed from his hero outfit his face was completely obscured, part in his long hair and the other by his capture thread. She smiled, setting the food on the counter, and tiptoed into the bedroom to grab a blanket. Walking back to the living room she placed the fuzzy quilt she had taken on the coffee table and gently lifted his head, reaching in the scarves to remove his goggles. Once the hard plastic and rubber eye gear was gone she urged him over, kissing him on the cheek when he mumbled something in his sleep. He moved at her prompt, laying length wise in a far more comfortable position. She propped a pillow under his head and wrestled his boots off.

At this point she knew he had to have woken but he spoke not a word, content to let her pamper him as she saw fit. She shook the blanket out and covered him with it from neck to toes, tucking it in around him so it wouldn't fall. He was now warm and far more relaxed than he had been before in his light doze. As she whispered that she hoped he slept well the warmth spread to his heart and he was glad his hair hid his blushing cheeks from sight. For, just like that, he suddenly knew she was undeniably the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
