Overprotective (Shota)

Elly and Aizawa were fighting a villian in the park that had been chopping trees down and frightening the hell out of the civilians. They chased him into a clearing and there they found out he was much faster than they thought.

Elly was closest and she had flickered back into sight to signal to her partner. The villian swung his arm about, the end transforming into a blade as he made contact with her body.

She fell to the ground, gasping in pain.

Aizawa's expression grew grim, his eyes blazing red with his hair raising upward. "<i>Don't you touch her</i>," he snarled, lashing out with his capture weapon. The last thing she saw was him slamming the huge fellow down hard with the terrible sound of breaking bones.

His heart pounding, all he could think of was to get in front of her fallen form to protect her from the hulking villain. It wasn't a rational approach and neither was his hoarse, raging cry as he attacked the man head on with more than excessive force.

He shook his head, disgusted with himself but unable to muster any sympathy for the bad guy at this point. All he wanted was to make sure she was safe, and when he saw her chest rising and falling he drew a long, deep breath in relief.

"I've got you, Ches. You're gonna be okay."

"Sh - ota?" She lifted her head, her vision blurry. "My side..."

"I've used my weapon as a tourniquet but you shouldn't move too much. I called the police, Chiyo and an ambulance. Hang in there."

"Cold."

Aizawa pulled her closer despite the blood soaking into his jump suit. "C'mon, Ches. Stay with me."

"M'fine," she mumbled. "You're warm." Then she passed out again.

She woke in a bright room with her right arm hooked up to something and her side stiff and aching dully.

"Where?!" She gasped, struggling to focus.

"Hey, you're okay. You're in the hospital." A nurse who was helping a patient in the next cot spoke calmly to her.

"Oh." Elly lay back, eyes closed and listening to the steady beep of the heart monitor. There was a comforting smell snuggled close by, and she sighed and rubbed her cheek on soft fabric. She opened her eyes to see a torn piece of capture thread placed beside her. When she nuzzled it, the end rose up and wrapped around her free wrist in a comforting manner. She smiled and held it close to her cheek as she rested.

Aizawa was seated outside looking sheepish in a black t-shirt and pink sweatpants. His capture weapon had been bloody when he arrived, as well as his suit. He had been forced by the staff to remove them and change if he wanted to stay, which he did after leaving the clean end of his thread with Elly. Chiyo had come and gone, and some of the U.A staff had visited as well. Still the Erasure Hero stayed, determined not to leave until they told him he could see her.

"Sir?"

"Huh." He jerked upright, blinking his bloodshot eyes.

"You brought in Cheshire, correct?" The doctor facing him looked sympathetic. Aizawa's eyes were deep set with dark shadows underneath. He looked pretty bad, and the woman assumed this was because he was worried about his friend. She hadn't treated him before in his hero costume, so didn't recognize him.

"Yes. She awake? Is she okay?"

"Yes to both. She needed some blood, but she has a common type and is doing just fine now."

"Can I see her?"

"Yep. Go right in."

He shuffled into her room.

"Hey."

"Shota." She blinked sleepily up at him.

He held his hand out, his first thought to touch her face, but froze when he realized what he was doing. She purred and rubbed on it anyway, causing him to blush across the bridge of his nose. "They told me you're doing much better."

"They told me you waited for me." Elly smiled at him, a soft sort of smile that reached her eyes. "Thank you."

His throat closed up and he looked away to hide his confusion.

"Do I have to stay here all night?" She frowned. "They won't tell me and I'm getting pissed off about it."

"If your condition is stable now it should be fine." He lifted her chart from the foot of the bed and looked at the data. "I've been much worse and they let me go."

"They probably couldn't wait to get rid of you." She chuckled.

"I did sort of push my weight around." He rubbed at the back of his neck. "I hate laying about."

"Can I ask a favor?"

"I'm sure. What is it?"

She cast her eyes demurely down. "Um. Could I have a - a hug? Hospitals freak me out."

He gave her an odd look but bent down to gently squeeze the side that wasn't bandaged. He didn't pull away after, though. "You sure this is what you really wanted to ask for?"

She was unable to answer that but it didn't matter. Aizawa chuckled and kissed her softly on the mouth. "I'll ask them for a release on your account. The school will send a vehicle to pick us up."

She found her voice. "Are you escorting me the whole way?"

"As far along as you wish." He raised his eyebrows and she blushed harder. "That's your choice. This is mine."
