That Ship has Long Since Sailed

The bell was long rung and it was time for class 1-A to buff up their English skills. Present Mic was standing at the chalkboard writing a few sentences down for them to analyze.

"This proves Ms. Cheshire and Mr. Mic are together." Mina was bouncing with barely controlled excitement in her seat. There was nothing she loved more than a good ship, except a <i>proven</i> ship.

"Not again," Ochacho groaned, banging her head on her open course book.

"He's got <i>cat hair</i> on him..!"

"That doesn't prove anything."

"But it's <i>purple</i>!" Mina squealed, her eyes alight and her hands raised in triumphant fists smushed against her cheeks.

"Ohhh. <i>Ohhh</i>!" Her brown eyes went huge and she clapped her hands to her burning cheeks. "Mina!"

"Ew. I don't wanna know if our teachers have been hooking up." Bakugo's sneer was more twisted in disgust than usual as he added his input.

"Yeah, and that still doesn't prove it. So what, maybe she brushed against him or something." Jiro shrugged.

Mic's face grew pinched as his eyebrows raised. He glanced down at his leather jacket and saw that he indeed had a generous amount of long, purple hairs covering his arm. His ears burning, he brushed them off and raised his voice.

"Yo, back there! I can hear you whispering, at <i>least</i> do it in English!"

"Okay!" Mina waved her hand wildly about, phrasing her question as directed. "If you heard, can I ask if you two are a couple?!"

"<i>Mina!</i>" Several teenagers called out her name in despair.

Mic put the book he was holding down on his desk and slowly rubbed his face with one gloved hand, pushing his sunglasses up as he did. He stared back at his goggle-eyed class and poked the orange-tinted shades back down with a single finger. He opened his mouth, but before he could speak, there was a light knock at the door. Muttering to himself, he strode over and opened it.

"Ches!" His voice lifted brightly; everyone heard it now that they were aware of the situation.

Elly smiled at him and lifted a neatly-tied up bento box. "You forgot your lunch on the counter this morning," she chided him gently.

"<i>Ooooooh!</i>" The class collectively dropped their jaws.

Mic blushed harder and took the offering, thanking her for walking it over. Then he sighed and said, "Oh, hell," leaned over, and gently kissed the side of her mouth. "Thanks, babe."

"You're <i>very</i> welcome," she purred happily, her tail twitching behind her as she left. She winked at the class and then closed the giant door behind her.

Mic cleared his throat. "Well, uh. Hey!" He looked up at the board where he had written several sentences down prior to all that. "Does anybody have any questions?"

Everyone's hands flew up at once, and he sighed, his glasses sliding down on his nose as he stared at them flatly. "Anybody have any questions about the <i>lesson</i>? Geez."
