Wonderland - 10

Elly adjusted her collar the next morning as she left for work. She had chosen the larger one she owned and hoped it wasn't as conspicuous as she thought. Not that she was worried about showing off her boyfriend's dedication to her, but some people misunderstood things like this.

Of course it was Midnight who picked up right away that something was different. She wouldn't leave them alone in the joint office the teachers worked in. The woman was insistent on exposing Aizawa, who kept his eyes on his work and said nothing. She soon focused on Elly instead, asking what he was like off duty with her and what seemed like a million more personal questions. She kept getting rather expertly deflected and it was clearly irritating her because she finally sat down in a huff.

"I don't get it, Cheshire. The man is a lump. How can a decent, hot-blooded woman be with someone like that? Has he even held your hand yet?"

Elly rubbed at her face in exasperation. The scruffy man's left eye twitched as he saw her slight distress. Mic saw this and ducked his head, laughing as quietly as he could. Of course, this wasn't silent at all but rather led to the entire group of coworkers staring at the four of them.

"Damn it," Aizawa snarled, pushing his chair back at last. He stormed over to where the ladies sat watching his unusual outburst with wide eyes, grabbed the fur on the front of Elly's bodysuit and yanked her half out of her seat facing up towards him. As everyone watched, stunned, he proceeded to kiss her in such a fashion that even Midnight blushed. He slowly nipped her lower lip, soothing it with his tongue before sliding sensuously into her mouth. His free hand worked through her hair to rest at the back of her head and tug gently at her purple locks, pulling her closer, kissing her deeper, swallowing and starting again instead of breaking for air. She eagerly followed his lead, sliding her arms around to clutch at the back of his jumpsuit. Aizawa mischievously let his hand fall to press against the collar, rubbing the mark he had made last night and eliciting a soft, startled mew from his woman. When they finally broke apart he panted for a moment, regaining his senses, then addressed the entire room with a hint of exasperation in his tired voice. "We're both very much sexually attracted to one another, and show it at appropriate times. Will everyone finally be quiet now so we can get some work done?"

Frantic nodding and a few murmurs answered his question, and no one bothered them for quite awhile after that.

It was almost the end of the school day when Midnight caught up with Elly in the hallway leading to the lounge.

"Hey!"

Elly turned around, ears perking. "Oh, hi."

"I didn't mean to be too pushy before," she half-apologized, "but I was curious as hell. Now I have even more questions."

The cat woman groaned. "Oh no."

"Like your collar." Midnight nodded at it. "It's thicker than the one you normally wear. He gave you a hickey, didn't he?"

"Nemuri." She rolled her eyes. "What are we, in middle school?"

"No, but I saw how he touched it when you guys kissed. This is my territory, remember. That, the collar wearing and the pain hiding, is behavior I recognize."

Elly stared pointedly at her whip. "Really? You think..." She bit her lip to try and stop the laughter, but it wasn't enough. She started giggling, her ears twitching as she pounded the wall in mirth.

"Ches!"

"I - I'm sorry, it's just... oh my god. It's not like that. Well, really it is, but not the way you think. He claimed me. It's an anthro thing."

The other woman's eyes grew round. "I never would have thought that! Isn't that - you know..." She leaned in conspiratorially. "Very serious?"

Elly blushed. "Yes."

"That's why I never thought... wow." She raised her eyebrows, fanning herself with one hand. "Aizawa is madly in love with you."

"Oh, come on."

"Honestly, Cheshire, I've known him since high school. He once said the institution of marriage was a sham. He never once dated the entire time, either. I mean, if he did, he kept it so secret it was nothing short of freaking amazing. We all live in that complex! Someone would have seen him take a date home." She pointed at her for emphasis. "We see him bring you back there.

"And not just now. I mean, when he was a teenager he never acted interested in anyone. You can't keep secrets like that in school. Everyone knows. If he's committing to you like that, then he's probably already made the decision."

"Decision?"

"Here he is now!" She waved as he slumped over towards them, sleeping bag dragging behind him in one hand. He blinked blearily at Elly and sucked the energy drink pouch he held in his mouth until it was almost flat. She reached out and squeezed the bottom, dredging up a tiny amount more and tossing it in a nearby trashcan when he was done.

Midnight stood in a doorway watching them with her hand up before her face.

The homeroom teacher shuffled close to her. "My place after last bell."

"Oh? Have something on your mind?"

"I've got something, all right, but it's not on my mind." He chuckled darkly. "I'm going to rest up. You make sure you're ready for me."

"Eraserhead!"

He grinned at her. "I told you. I want more, Ches. At least four times as much."
