Couch Confession

Aizawa headed into the faculty lounge for a nap, dragging his lumpy yellow sleeping bag behind him and yawning. He saw Toshinori Yagi standing at the open door and made a face, but put out his hand to push past.

Yagi pointed at the couch in the middle of the room, shushing him urgently.

"The hell's your problem?" Aizawa wanted his nap, and he wanted it <i>now</i>. He glanced out toward where the other man was pointing and froze.

Present Mic was sitting on the couch in the middle of the room, his feet up on the coffee table and his neck gear off. The school counselor, Cheshire, was dozing on his lap.

Neither Aizawa nor Yagi knew just how the Voice Hero managed to get into this compromising situation, but that didn't matter. They listened, Aizawa too stunned to move and Yagi, ever the closet romantic, hanging on every second that passed.

Elly's head was cradled sideways on Mic's lap, a blanket folded up under her cheek. Her eyes were closed peacefully and her striped tail slowly twitched as her chest rose and fell with her even breathing.

He was singing some immensely sappy American love song, in English, so Aizawa didn't know the words. But he knew they must have been <i>highly</i> romantic from the way the skeletal man beside him was blushing. Not many people heard Present Mic speak in anything other than a hyped up voice, usually loud and often called annoying by those that weren't his friends or fans. But he could fluctuate his tone to varying degrees, and he was using a low, pleasing baritone to sing to the cat woman as she slept.

Cats liked deep voices, Aizawa knew, which meant he deliberately chose this to be soothing. He raised his eyebrows.

"I didn't know he felt this strongly about her," he said quietly.

"He's in love."

Aizawa grunted, staring at his friend's dreamy green eyes. "It would appear so," he agreed.

Mic finished the song and breathed out in a slow gust. He leaned forward carefully, so as not to disturb her, and whispered right above her forehead. Yagi held his breath for a kiss, but the Voice Hero thought it wouldn't be right if she was asleep.

"I mean it," he sighed. "I'm so in <i>love</i> with you, baby." Then he broke out in a wry grin. "Oh, man," he chuckled sheepishly. "It's a good thing yer asleep, 'cause if not you'd have heard one <i>hell</i> of an embarrassing confession."

"Mmnn, Mic," her sleepy purr responded.

Mic jerked upright, his orange-tinted sunglasses falling askew and his expression absolutely mortified. His chest rose and fell rapidly as his heart rate tripled in shock.

<i>Oh no. Oh, shit... nononono!</i>

"Uh, Ches! Hey! Have a good nap?"

She reached out and caught a handful of his white tank top, tugging to urge him back down. Mic bent, wincing in anticipation of a slap or worse. "I had the best nap I've ever had," she said quietly.

"Oh! Good."

Elly cupped the side of his face in one hand, her thumb lightly brushing his mustache. "I love you, too, Hizashi," she purred.

He melted completely at the sound of his given name on her lips. His mind went blank and his emotions took over. Hizashi kissed her gently, brushing his mouth on hers and flicking his tongue out when she moaned. The kiss deepened and he whimpered a little, his small brows pulling his upper features together into a point.

"Oh god," he breathed when they parted. "That was - that was <i>awesome</i>. You wanna be my girl, babe? I'd really like if we hooked up... permanently."

She grinned at him. "I wouldn't accept anything less."

"Yeah!" His smile intensified and she giggled girlishly, briefly kissing him again.

"You're way too cute, Mic, but, um. You know Yagi and Aizawa are watching us, right?"

"Erk!"

Yagi choked, covering his mouth as he sprayed blood into his palm. "Shit!"

Aizawa, however, reached out and shoved the door all the way open. "I need the couch," he proclaimed sternly. "Find another place to make out, you two."

Hizashi yelped. "We were <i>not</i> doing anythin' like that!"

Elly stretched, her eyebrows rising. "Oh? I would've."

He blinked down at her in double shock. "<i>Ches</i>!"

Aizawa threw his sleeping bag pointedly at them. "Shut up and find a janitorial closet or something. I'm tired."
