Shining 11

Elly, of course, was having problems of her own.

The sea was new to her here, as she really had washed up on that beach after a storm. She didn't know the local waterways or if there were any others of her kind around. It was a little colder, and she missed the warmth and comfort not only of a cheerfully crackling fire, but the presence of Aizawa close beside her.

She swam like a furry bullet through the water, chasing after a fine, fat fish she had her eye on. But once it was between her teeth, her first thought was how pleased he would be at the sight of dinner. Elly shot up onto a cluster of rocks, landing with a meaty thump. She'd let the fish go for lack of hunger and a desperate needed to cry. Her coat rolled off her pale shoulders as she shed it quickly.

My heart, my heart is so heavy.

She knelt on the jagged gray stone, naked and cold and uncaring. All she could see were the gray eyes that had looked upon her with warmth once but had been filled with such anger towards her at the end. She cried until her eyes were sore and she grew dizzy. Then she sighed and rolled herself up in her skin, changing again into a seal that couldn't weep.

Elly tucked her head back and rolled over, closing her eyes as she lay on the hard rock. It was by no means as nice as the bed she had shared with him, but what she missed was not the softness but his incessant snoring.

She barked several times, sadly calling out without hope that anyone would answer.

Unfortunately, that was not the case.
