It was quiet except for the faint tick of the clock on the wall and some vehicles outside. They were up high enough so that the bustle and commotion of Boo York didn't disturb them, but Jackson kept tossing and turning on the lavish couch he lay on. Finally he gave up.

"I can't sleep," he groaned dismally, one arm flopping off his makeshift bed.

Elly evidently couldn't, either, because she answered him right away. "Well, come over here." She threw the sheets back on the bed.

"Uh..." Jackson placed his glasses on and peered over. "That might not be such a good idea, you know."

"You want a written invitation?" Elly asked him archly. "It's okay."

"Y- you sure?" He stood at the side staring at the spot she'd made for him. "Honestly, I feel less sleepy already. Way less."

"For now. C'mere."

He sighed. "I tried to warn you." He stretched his arms over his head, yawned, then climbed in, wriggling down under the sheets. "Wow, this is a lot nicer."

"Told you." She snuggled close and laid an arm across his chest. "Now, for the serious stuff." She paused for dramatic effect while he gulped nervously. "Do you really wear button-down pajamas to bed?"

The glare he gave her made her chuckle. "Elly."

"I'm serious."

"Yes."

"It's not because of the situation?"

"Nope." His cheeks were burning. "I really do. Is that weird?"

"Nope." She matched his tone perfectly. "S'cute."

A huge yawn stifled any retort he may have made, and he once again admitted defeat. "Okay. Good night, then."

"Good night."

She woke a few hours later to find a pair of earnest blue eyes staring at her. There was warmth, and an arm curled comfortably about her waist. Elly blinked sleepily. "Hnnn... Jacky?"

"Uh huh."

"M'what time is it?"

"Err, I can't see that far without my glasses. But it's dark out." He ducked his head. "Sorry if I woke you." His arm squeezed a little tighter. "You were all the way on the other side of the bed."

"Nah. I think I just woke up."

"Good," he murmured with a curious tone in his voice, and unexpectedly pulled her so close against him that she gasped. He wriggled one of his legs between hers and brazenly nudged at her sex while his mouth pressed against her own. Shocked at his boldness, Elly checked his cheek for that telltale tattoo but saw nothing. She relaxed in his embrace, the warm little glow she felt starting to turn into a serious burn in her lower belly. After awhile, Jackson slipped his tongue slowly from between her lips and caught a great breath of air. Neither spoke, both breathing heavily for a moment and staring into each other's eyes. And then, in yet another daring move, he pulled his leg out from between hers and rolled over on top of her.

"Yes." Elly reached out to grasp his shoulder blades and pull him down against her. This time he hesitated, uncertain about how much weight he should lay on the young woman under him. He eventually settled for propping himself up on his arms and laid his lower half directly on hers. A soft sound escaped him as he felt her legs wrap around his, then a moan when she tightened them. Clothing was removed from Elly first, since she wore a simple robe, and his hands shook a little when he saw she wore nothing underneath. His hands caressed her breasts with a tenderness that nearly drove her to tears. He was always gentle, but this felt very different. It was more stimulating, a teasing flutter of fingertips and light tracing as if he wanted to cover every inch of her sensitive skin. She threw her head back, drawing in air, and then cried out as she felt his warm mouth settle on her nipple. Eyes closed, Jackson ran his tongue around, feeling the tightened nub of flesh and tasting the faint taste of her perfume. Elly cried out again and caught the back of his head in her hands when he began to suckle.  He was having a difficult time because all the sounds she was making excited him terribly. And, of course, she had begun to touch him everywhere she could, including a delicious rubbing on his rear that he couldn't ignore. He broke with a moist sound from the other breast he had switched to some time ago.

"I can't," he gasped apologetically. "I can't... please," his voice grew thicker as he struggled to speak. "Touch me," he begged, giving his hips a little thrust for emphasis.

"Take these off," she murmured, raising the waistband of his pants. He nodded absently and struggled out of them in such a hurry that she covered her mouth to hide a smile. Once nude, he seemed to become shy again but she ignored this, gently sliding a hand down his stomach. She trailed a finger suggestively past his navel and Jackson jerked wildly.

"Elly," he groaned, his head drooping forward.

"Damn," she sighed. "You're sexy when you're pushed to your limits." She paused. "Let's see how far I can go, then, until you break."

"Elly!" His voice rose when she encircled the tip of his stiff member, tugging gently. It took all he had not to scream and he shuddered instead, his arms feeling weaker as she teased him. After a few moments he besieged her with kisses, his breath hot and his mouth hotter, passionately using his tongue for all he was worth. Her hand felt so good around him, better than before, for with no restraint she was exploring him in ways that were driving him wild. Her fingers rubbed, dipped, and caressed, even going so far as to slip a tiny bit inside him. He had known this excited some men, but had never thought he would be one of them. The pleasurable shock that ran the length of his bobbing erection convinced him, however. His hand eagerly sought the warmth of her sex to dip inside, testing her reaction. When he heard her sigh his name, he knew. "I... I want to..." She wordlessly lifted her legs up, blushing as she exposed where he would need to enter. Her hands now gripped his upper back, and he could feel her trembling.

Yet he paused. "Uh..."

"It's safe," she said quietly. "Please, Jackson, I want you."

"Oh my god." He shook himself all over, hard. "Okay." The tip touched her body and he closed his eyes. "Ah, ha..." One deep breath and he pushed forward. He almost pushed himself completely off when he heard her cry out, but she wrapped her legs around him with a firm shake of her head.

"No, no, just wait... minute." She frowned, then wriggled a little. He felt himself slip a little deeper inside and she whimpered.

"Did I hurt you?" Pleasure aside - and he could very hardly think of anything else it was so great -- he was worried.

"No - well, yes, a little." She smiled and stroked his upset face. "But I'm adjusting." Jackson considered for a minute, then had an idea. He pulled back in spite of what she said, moving forward again only to rub the head of his member at her slick entrance. She gasped, and he moved faster until she was tossing her head back and forth in abandon. Then he thrust once more, slowly, partially. And drew back.

Forward.

Back, in a little more. And repeat...

Jackson's pleasure was doubled by her rapturous cries as he made love to her. He held her as close as he could while he moved, his body rising and falling in an act as old as time. He lost track of anything, of everything, only listening for her breathy moans and trying to duplicate what made her sound more excited. In the course of that, his own body's reaction was not long coming. Jackson kissed her deeply, words failing him in the heat of the moment and he felt her quivering around him, inside and out. His own orgasm was so intense he strained forward, thrusting as hard as he could. His mind wanted to fill her as much as he could with his essence, his love, his need for her. The several short bursts released were so powerful that he flopped forward when finished, completely spent in every sense of the word.

Neither spoke, nor felt they had to. Both were tired, sweaty, and sticky from their exertions but despite this they fell asleep again, Jackson curling an arm around her from behind.

The Mermaid's Curse

"The Mermaid's Curse"

The cavern was dark and damp. Sanji had taken Elly along with him while looking for food, claiming that she could sniff out things much better than he could find them with his eyes alone. So far, however, all they had found was a very strange opening in the ground near the beach.

"It's a dead end?" Elly placed a hand on the smooth wall with a puzzled look. Her cat ears flicked absently, alert as always. They had only walked for a quarter of an hour, their curiousity growing with every minute. Since she hadn't sensed or scented any danger and it seemed to be one long pathway, they'd kept going. But after all this time to find nothing..?

"Strange," he murmured. Something on the ground caught his eye then: a small area that had words chiseled into the stone. His single visible eye grew very wide and he turned around. "Let's get out," he hissed urgently.

"Something wrong?"

"Maybe not," he confessed, "But I think there's more to this place than just a natural cave."

She shrugged and turned around with a swish of her lavender striped tail. "All right. It's boring here anyway. I thought we'd find something interesting."

The "something interesting" came later, and she was not pleased when it did. Halfway back to the ship as they were walking slowly and looking up at the stars in the night sky she stumbled and fell to her knees. Sanji knelt immediately by her side.

"What's wrong? Are you alright?" He wrung his hands at the thought of her being injured. Before she could even answer him, she stiffened, her legs kicking out in a jerky motion. He watched in disbelief as the pants she was wearing tore off to reveal a glistening, fine-scaled tail.

A fishy tail.

"What's happening to me?" Elly slapped at the water frantically, struggling to move or do something - anything. All she managed to do was dig her hands in the sand and spray them both with seawater. Finally she gave up and sat down on the wet sand with the wavelets lapping at her very different tail.

"You look absolutely breathtaking," Sanji assured her with a catch in his throbbing voice.

"Breathtaking." She stared into the empty air for a long time and then slowly placed her hands in front of her eyes. He flinched guiltily when he saw the tears rolling down her cheeks, glistening in the light of the full moon above.

"Don't do that." He reached out and pulled her wrists down as gently as possible in one hand. He sat down beside her, oblivious to the fact that his slacks were getting soaked, and lightly brushed the tears away from her cheeks with a fingertip.

She sniffled and shook her head. "Why not? I don't want to have to live in the water! I don't even know how this happened. There wasn't anything in that cave and that was the only thing we did that was unusual!"

"Is that all for now?" He looked mildly surprised. "Here, wait a moment." He stood and took his jacket off while she watched him, perplexed. His lean body looked even more slender without the extra bulk, and she contemplated again how he could be so strong without adding any extra muscle to his bottom half. Sanji strode out into the ocean and submerged his jacket completely, making certain to get it as wet as possible.

"What're you doing?"

"Making sure you're comfortable while I carry you back to the ship." He picked her easily up into his arms, careful to wrap the cloth around her tail so she wouldn't dry out.

"But where can I stay - ohhhh."

"That's right," he murmured as he began strolling towards the Sunny. "The aquarium."

Her shoulders sagged a little. She still wouldn't be able to be with everyone as much as she liked; she'd just now found something of a family and then this happened. "I guess at least I don't look like a demon anymore."

"You never did." He laughed softly when he felt her intake of air, getting ready for a quick retort. "No, no, you had the tail and ears and pointy teeth. I know that. People saw those. But not what you really looked like, a pretty young lady with some added features."

No one was moving this late at night so they arrived in silence to the great tank they kept the fish they would harvest for meals in. Sanji set her down on the edge and she sank into the water with some misgivings about the whole idea. He knelt, watching silently for a moment with his fingers almost absently working at his tie. He slipped the knot finally and removed his shirt.

"What are you -" The young man's slacks came next, silencing her instantly. Elly dove back down for a moment to cover her confusion and shock. Sanji was wearing dark blue colored boxers that were buttoned at the front, thick enough for swimming in.

Obviously he meant to get in the tank with her, but why?

The water rippled as he  joined her, the fish flickering about in confusion to dart away from the newcomer towards the far sides of the tank. She stroked to the top again where he was treading water, his hair wet already and plastered to one side of his face. When she joined him he smiled at her and did something that stunned her even more.

He raised his hand and stroked the hair back, uncovering his entire face before her. Elly blinked, dumbfounded by his revealing act. No one - she knew, no one -- had ever seen this. He'd always covered one side or the other. Somehow he'd even managed to conceal himself when he was hanging upside down, by popping down beside a barrel or other object. They knew now what he looked like on both sides but he'd never been seen with his whole face uncovered. Sanji waited until she bowed her head, blushing, before shaking his own and letting his bangs fall back down.

"I know it doesn't make us even." He sighed and kicked towards her, floating until he bumped her side and placing an arm about her wet shoulders. "But I wanted you to understand I'm sorry for what happened. And I also want you to know that I was interested in you before this change took place."

"Interested? Sanji, you're interested in any female, anywhere. Don't try to justify hitting on me because I turned into some fantasy of yours." Her lavender eyes flashed angrily.

"And yet I'm here, with you," he whispered close to her ear. "Because I want to be. And because you need someone right now."

Elly blushed crazily and, frowning just a little, she turned her head. This was a miscalculation on her part because when offered the smooth, white skin of her neck Sanji didn't even think - he simply reacted. His mouth was already close and he only needed to move just a little to bring it into contact with her. She never even felt it until he spoke again, his words muffled softly and warm on her cool flesh.

"...and because I'm in love with you."

"You are not," she choked, her eyes squeezing shut. "You're not. You 'fall in love' about twenty times a day." She tried to swim away but his arm was still around her. They moved together towards the center of the tank instead, and she finally gave up when she saw she could only remove him by force.

He placed his other arm around her shoulders and hung on, nestling his cheek against hers. Her powerful new tail was enough to keep them both afloat. She hated it. She hated the scales, the thickness, the fact that she didn't have legs anymore... the way it had brought them together. It felt wrong. He didn't love her. He couldn't.

But the kiss that followed sure felt like he was serious.

"Are you fighting me, or yourself?" He breathed into her mouth, paused, then softly kissed her lower lip. One of his strong legs had wrapped around her below and was rubbing along the length of her tail. Other things were rubbing against her below as well but she tried not to think about that.

She blushed even harder. "I - I don't know what you're planning to do, but ..."

"I'm not sure, either," he confessed, running a hand down her tail. "And if you have to be under water to make love, I can't stay down long."

She gasped. "You!"

"Pervert?" He looked up calmly. He wasn't fussing, or squirming, or anything like she'd always seen him respond to other females. He was disturbingly quiet, as if he was filled with purpose and knew what he was doing. "Is that what you wanted to say, love?"

"Stop that!" She jerked her tail away from him suddenly, ashamed at the warm tingle that had been growing in her lower belly.

"There we are," he whispered, and locked both legs around her midsection as he unwrapped his arms from about her neck. It wasn't uncomfortable, but there was no way she could pry him off. He used his arms to stroke back and forth, helping them stay above the water line. "I'm not trying to force this on you, but the writing said there was only one way to change you back."

"Writing?! Why didn't you tell me?"

"Would you have let me get this close to you?" Sanji's voice was bitter as he spoke; there was no hint of playfulness now. "I know how you detest me. Even the girls that slap me don't hate me as much. No, you don't even talk to me."

"I don't hate you," she blurted, confused. "Listen, can we move to the edge maybe? My arms aren't as strong as ... that nasty tail."

"Of course." He obligingly pushed against the water in the right direction so she could pull her upper half out of the water and sit on the edge. He moved smoothly with her, though his position was more awkward. Since he had positioned himself for sex he was lower than her rear part that rested on the ground. He gripped the edge instead, holding on to her with those abnormally strong legs.

"Well," he began, his cheeks flushing pink with embarrassment when she gingerly touched his soft hair. "It's my fault you're like this. And it's my responsibility to make things right."

"Are you sure this was what it said?"

He grew even more uncomfortable. "Damn it! We have to act out my fantasy to the end. Then you'll revert."

"This all happened because you wanted to screw a mermaid?" Her face grew darker and darker as the seconds ticked by. "Did you wish this awful thing to happen to me?!"

"Look," he responded with some heat, "all I was doing was thinking about your tail, and the water nearby made me think of one like this, and I - I had a little fantasy, all right? It doesn't make me a terrible guy. I've wanted you for a long time before this!" He squirmed around and she tensed all over when she felt what he was doing.

"Sanji, wait! Don't!"

"No more talk." Sanji moved forward and a length of hard flesh slid along the smooth scales. She grimaced and closed her eyes tight, trembling though she tried to hold it in. After a minute she realized nothing had happened and she nervously cracked an eyelid. His bluff had failed. The young man was slumped forward, his hair obscuring his face. His knuckles were white where they gripped the side of the tank. As her fear abated and she listened more closely, she could hear his rapid intake of air; soft, shuddering gasps of breath.

She touched his cheek with a wandering hand, feeling the flow of tears. "You're crying."

"Yes. How unmanly is that?" He thrust his face in the opposite direction. "Fine. You've demonstrated that you'd rather stay this way than be with me. I respect that. Maybe there's another way to end this." She was released from his tightly locked legs below and he jumped lithely out of the water, turning to hide himself as he buttoned his boxers. He drew his knees up before himself and wrapped his arms around them, still not facing her.

Elly dipped her ungainly cursed tail in the water and stared hard at it. She tucked her purple hair behind her new, human-like ears and shuddered at how alien they felt.

"Could you maybe bring some pillows or something in?"

"Yes." He stood up, stripping the water off his arms and legs. "Do you need anything else?" He asked in a carefully neutral tone.

She shook her head. "Just come back to me."

Sanji raised a curly eyebrow. "All right," he agreed. "If that's what you want." He was, however, unnaturally silent as he brought the blankets and pillows Elly had requested to the tank area. He set them down beside her and then sat without a word.

"Thank you," she said gratefully. He nodded.

Elly was seated sideways with her tail out of the water. She carefully folded the blankets and laid them on the floor beside her, then placed the couple of pillows at one end. When everything was arranged to her satisfaction she sighed deeply and pulled her shirt over her head.

The blond chef choked and spun about. "What are you doing," he gasped.

"It's cold," she said simply. "Lay with me on the blankets."

"Lay with..." Sanji shifted around as if in a dream. She was stretched out like she said, shivering and nude with her arms outstretched. Her eyes were very vulnerable. "Oh my god," he whispered, starting to shake himself. "Please tell me you're not just doing this because you have to."

"I do have to. But if I have to, I may as well relax about it. Won't be the worst thing to happen to me."

He rushed to her side and knelt above her, placing a cool hand on the side of her face. "Lie to me," he begged. "Just for tonight. Please." His visible eye shone with unshed tears.

"I don't have to." The admission caused her to flinch a little, her eyes downcast and the ever-present blush on her cheeks growing darker.

He groaned deeply and dropped his head to her shoulder, burying it in the hollow between and shuddering all over. "I'm sorry," he whispered even as he began kissing her neck. "I'm so sorry I did this to you. I didn't mean to."

"I know." As Sanji's kisses grew more passionate she tentatively hugged him close. He murmured encouragement and wriggled out of his sodden underwear. His hands ghosted back up her waist, held there a moment, and then went farther until he was gently grasping both sides of her head.

He cleared his throat. "I, uh, found where I'm supposed to enter you," he told her matter-of-factly, "but I don't know if this will hurt or not." He paused, a shadow crossing his handsome features. "I'll go slow, but..."

"Sanji." He stopped faltering for words and closed his eyes when she caressed his face. She smiled ruefully. "We're compatible. Trust me, I can feel my body is the same there."

"All right, then," he gulped. "I'm moving."

She closed her eyes for a moment, breathing deeply to try and relax. She felt a slight nudge below, then increasing pressure. "Sanji, please!"

His eyes widened. "Y-yes," he choked. Rolling his shoulders back, he thrust forward as carefully as he could. Her body tightened around him as he slipped inside, and he fell forward, his hair hanging over his face as he cried out. It was more glorious than he'd imagined. More pleasure than anything he'd felt before, more everything, especially when her arms circled around to hold him while he moved. He hadn't expected that. "Okay?" he asked between pants for air as he moved above her.

"Yes," she gasped. The tail below flopped powerfully as she writhed underneath his body. Tears slipped from her eyes as she squeezed them even tighter. The strangest thing was happening, this tense feeling in her lower body building, a rubbing friction that mounted steadily. She recognized what it was and gave in when she heard him whimpering her name.

"Angel," he moaned, struggling with the desire to move faster and faster. He was barely able to keep a steady pace and his legs felt unnaturally weak. Sanji let out a huge gust of air, clenching his jaw and arching his back in a massive effort.

"Oh my god," Elly cried out as something within her started to burn with a fire she'd never dreamed of. "Sanji, there!" He snapped his neck up, sweat flying as he strove to duplicate the same angle. She cried out again and again as he surrendered to the needs of his body, moving faster at last. Her hands dug into his back for purchase and he relished every scrape of her nails in his tender flesh. There was no way he could stop what he was building up to and he no longer tried. And then Sanji heard her crying his name out, felt her shuddering underneath him. He watched as she shivered through the ecstasy he had brought her and that caused his own ultimate release.

"I'm," he gasped in her ear, grinding hard to stay deep inside her. "coming..." He wrenched forward so hard he saw spots, his mouth open and trailing saliva down his chin. "Love you!"

Both fell backwards into a clumsy embrace onto the now slightly-damp pillows. Elly's heart was beating fast, her mind filled with the words he'd spoken and body throbbing. She was purring. Sanji turned his head, resting between her breasts. He felt her legs curl around him and smiled with complete satisfaction.

"I love you, too," she murmured. "Idiot."

Massage

"Massage"
orig. 7/5/2007
Elly x Zoro (pre-time skip)
oral sex (male recipient), adult
Anime/Manga: ONE PIECE

.
.
.

"All right," he finally gave in. Elly gave a cry of delight and hugged him. Zoro had been working out all day, testing himself harder than usual. She had seen this and suggested that he should have a massage. She'd never given one, but knew they felt good and wanted him to have the experience. After all, he'd given her a few already and he was an expert.

"Take your shirt off," she murmured.

"I just put it back on." But although he grumbled he did what he was told. He even went so far as to lie down on the green grass. She stroked his shoulder blades, gently brushing her fingertips across the tan flesh. Her nails scraped delicately along his spine for a moment and he shivered despite himself.

"Ngh... cat," he grunted.

"Quiet." Her soft voice purred close to his ear. The left ear, the sensitive one - he gasped when she nipped the lobe and pulled at the gold earrings with her teeth. Warm breath puffed onto the tender spot on his neck as she moved lower, under the ear. She didn't touch it with her mouth but the soft rush of air was maddening. Her hands were kneading those broad shoulders now, firmly pressing into the worn muscles and causing blood to flow again. Zoro sighed roughly.

"Damn." His voice was deepening, becoming huskier. Elly's hands rubbed around and moved to his front, feeling all the rounds and bumps of muscle carefully; squeezing and smoothing. He finally snorted and rolled his head sideways, leaning it against her arm. She felt him relax, and listened to the low growl that convinced her he was going to submit. Her mouth was warm on his throat, kissing and licking. He found all this attention embarrassing but couldn't deny he liked it.

So let her, he thought contentedly. The pale woman behind him knew where he liked to be touched and she was exploring to see if she could find different spots. Why should he resist? He wanted nothing other than to be with her because she made him feel good. Zoro was an uncomplicated sort of man. Beer, food, and sex made him happy. Add in a nice little fight with someone skilled now and then and he was complete. He sighed again, lustily. When she indicated she wanted to touch him elsewhere, too, he sat up right away. Elly's hands moved to his front and she ran her hands down the scar that twisted down his chest. He couldn't stop his abdomen muscles from jerking in response to the gentle touch.

"Kitten," he muttered.

The scar fascinated her. His entire body did. He was so strong but not overflowing with huge bodybuilder's muscles; she'd always hated that type of man. No, Zoro was lean where she liked him to be lean. He had those big shoulders and upper arms but he was thinner than one might expect. The scar always compelled her to touch it; to run her fingers down it and play with the thickened tissue. Now she wriggled out from behind him, eyes fixed on the object of her attention. The swordsman raised an eyebrow but shifted backwards, propping himself on his arms. Elly clambered over his legs and slid her hands up his chest this time. When she reached his neck she leaned forward until her nose touched his. His gaze was calm, his eyes half-lidded with lazy arousal. When she didn't move he cupped a hand around the back of her neck and guided her towards him, tilting his head for a kiss.

That should do it, he thought, opening his mouth and preparing to overwhelm her. What? His dark eyes flashed open in shock when he felt her fangs digging slightly into his lower lip. Her hands were still moving. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. Elly's fingers were stroking his shoulders and as the kiss deepened the left hand stole up to his ear.

This wasn't how it was supposed to work - he'd thought to dominate her with his virility, make her swoon and blush as he toyed with her body. She'd turned the tables on him! Zoro choked as she tugged at his earrings again.

"Shit!" He gasped. The big man struggled to snap himself out of the haze of desire. It was too much, her tongue lapping at the inside of his panting mouth while her one hand caused delirious little sparks of pain at his earlobe. The other hand was caressing his throat, tickling around the pulse in his neck. He swallowed, gulping hard and trying to turn his head. "Wait, stop..."

Elly had no intention of stopping. For some reason the massage had completely stripped him of all his defenses. Now she was going to use every single tactic she knew to cause him to break down. She sighed deeply and pushed a little harder on that pulse, feeling it beat faster. She placed a finger on it and trailed her lips from his down to his neck. Zoro swore violently; he knew what she was going to do. Although he was still trying to remain still he couldn't. He jerked his head a little to the right, exposing the spot she was teasing. Elly's grin widened - he felt it on his skin as her sharp teeth rubbed against him. They came nearer and then he was clutching his hands into two big fists as her mouth sucked, her teeth nipped. His breathing roughened and he couldn't stop the words from spilling out, gruff and demanding.

"Haa..." More hoarse breathing. "Lower," he growled. His back arched towards her, muscles rippling with a combined effort to try and stay as still as possible.

"Anything you want," she purred. He barely heard her. Zoro's jaw clenched - warmth and kisses as well as a few bites now and then were trailing down his torso. Her hands slid around his back until she was squeezing his rear through the thin green pants he wore. That felt good enough, but delicate fingers were gently teasing his rear through the fabric. He wrenched his head to one side on the pillows, gasping at the shock of pleasure. The swordsman had read some off-color manga before, but never thought that actually could feel that great. Tendons stood out on his neck as he writhed on the matted down grass, sweating, new love-bites standing out sharply on his flushed skin.

"Want," he growled, "your mouth." More struggling and finally an exasperated hiss. "On me." His face was impossibly dark, flushed with blood half in embarrassment and desire. He'd squeezed his eyes shut a long time ago and now he laid an arm across them as well. Not seeing what was happening was even more thrilling, of course, but he was still shy about watching his lover do things to him down there. And he felt her breath on the crotch of his pants now. Zoro hadn't been wearing the haramaki so she could keep going without its awkward removal. Elly lapped at the skin just above the button flap on his pants, liking the way the tan flesh jerked and twitched under her attentions. She took a hand away from his bottom long enough to hook a finger in the waistband and nuzzle further under.

He smelled good.

He always did, but there was something else about the smell of his desire that excited her. She also found it amusing that he had no body hair at all except for the patch of green proceeding his manhood. His irritated sigh was reward enough for the tease; she laughed softly and unbuttoned his pants.

"Up," Elly murmured. Zoro lifted his torso and she quickly stripped him of his pants and underwear. She noted in passing that there was a large wet drop on the cloth of the jockeys he wore and giggled again, evilly this time.

"Cat," he reproached wearily. His thick arousal bobbed as he moved into a comfortable position again. There was still a thin drip of fluid sliding down the base. She smiled and lightly touched the throbbing vein on the side, rubbing the clear liquid down. Zoro grunted.

"Hush." A pale hand reached underneath him and carefully cupped his tightly drawn balls - now that wasn't something he had been expecting. She was full of surprises today, it seemed. The air whooshed out of him as his eyes widened.

"Cat!"

"Shhh." Her finger slipped and brushed directly against the spot she'd been toying with before. The difference now was that the cloth was gone. The light touch sent a chill down his spine and caused him to jerk away.

"Uh!"

"Ticklish?" she asked mischievously.

"Cut that out!" But he reached hungrily for her. Elly allowed herself to be pulled into an almost bone-crushing embrace as he kissed her. It was times like these she loved, when she could get him to forget about his strength and just want her so badly. She loved him so much it hurt sometimes... loved the way he felt when he squeezed her with those massive arms, the way his kisses bruised her lips. The big man's tongue pressed into her mouth and thrust in and out, mimicking sex and making them both want each other even more. He relinquished his death grip about halfway through the kiss. "Sorry," he husked.

"I'm not going to break if you're a little rough." She shrugged and kissed him lingeringly. More gentle now, his big hands stroked the purple sidelocks away from her face.

"Still sorry."  He looked down at himself. He was nude, lying peacefully back on the sweet-smelling grass with his woman sprawled on top of him. Elly smiled, guessing what was he thinking when he grinned at her and stretched languorously. She placed her thighs together, wrapped around his still firm sex.

"So handsome," she breathed when he growled crossly. She leaned back and pulled her own top off, freeing her breasts in one move. The tank and bra fell to the side to flump softly on top of his pants. She crawled quickly down to his groin and touched his belly button, kissing it and dabbing a tongue inside.

"Hmf." Zoro crossed his arms, petulant under her teasing touches. He was starting to ache, the warm ball of lead in his belly growing hotter and more disturbing. He stared down at her defiantly, the hint of a smile touching the corner of his mouth. "Don't take all day, cat."

"You're too impatient," she murmured. Her tongue wetly swiped the inside of a thigh, lighter than the rest of his body. This was the regular color of his skin that no one else saw but her and of course, the man himself. She liked that. It was a secret that they shared, this untanned part of him that held the center of her attention. Zoro's stomach grew more tense and the fire in his groin deeper as she nuzzled closer to his erection. He would have sworn at her again, maybe thrown in a sarcastic comment or two, but she was touching him while her mouth grew nearer. Her hand gently encircled him. Sighing, the pale woman drew back and moved her hand, pulling the blood-infused penis straighter. He'd been so hard it had been brushing against his lean belly. While that was exciting, it wasn't what she had in mind. The swordsman was making strangled noises now as he once again covered his eyes with an arm.

"Do it," he choked. "Just do it."

But she held back a moment longer, staring lovingly at what she held in her hand. In contrast to his huge body, the rippling muscles and giant upper arms that he had, his sexual organ actually looked smaller than what one might think. He had what counted the most when it came to pleasing a woman, though: girth. Her beloved was wide and thick around, plump at the tip as his muscles were on the rest of his body. Elly had never actually finished him with her mouth before and thought she might have an aching jaw before it was over. She purred as she flicked her tongue at the tip of his thick member, dabbing at the slit and taking her time to taste him. As she opened her mouth to use her lips and kiss him there she saw more drops bubble up. He was so worked up that he had become loud, his panting seemed to fill the room with hoarse puffs. It was all she could hear besides the pounding of her heart and she made a note to concentrate on the noises he was making as she began.

Zoro choked on his own breath. He tried not to squirm. Tried to stay still and remember who he was, what his goals were. To tell himself that the strongest man in the world would not whimper or beg from anyone, even the woman he loved. But she was kissing him. He felt her lips and tongue tenderly encircling the tip of his arousal, mouthing in small little sucks that were fleeting touches of what he wanted, no - needed. He clamped his lips together and settled for a long, low hum that was less a growl than usual.

He was afraid to open his mouth because he would scream.

Elly panted softly on his hot flesh, resting for a moment and gathering ideas. Saliva and Zoro's own personal lubricant coated the tip of his flesh, glistening wetly. She finally relaxed her jaw, sighed deeply and pushed her mouth down as slowly as she could. It was a stretch, but she managed to get as far down as her fingers at the base. Not quite all the way but to listen to him it was most certainly enough.

"Hah!" The words burst out of him in a small roar. "More! Yes!" He squeezed his eyes shut, for his arm had long since thrown beside himself in a desperate grab for purchase. He found nothing but air, however, and he had to flop back down. She pulled herself up, sucking and licking, and he bucked inadvertently towards that warmth and wet. By now her mouth had accustomed to the size, more or less, and she began to enjoy herself. She began experimenting, lapping occasionally and sucking at him harder when he didn't complain. His panting had, by now, degenerated into a steady stream of "ah" every time he breathed out.

"God, Zoro."

She had parted her lips, separating from him with a moist sound. She felt him tremble below her, but she only wanted her full breath. Elly stretched, drew in a deep gulp of air and quite literally attacked him, eagerly devouring him, excited and happy that she was making him feel so good. Zoro swore violently, his eyes popping open. The top half of his body pulled up like he was doing a sit up and he stared incredulously at the bobbing purple hair at his crotch.

"Wait," he rumbled in a too-distant sounding voice to his ears, "You want me to..?" A muffled purr came from below as his answer. He would have laughed but he had started to feel that he was, indeed, going to come. Very soon. His hand stroked the back of her head nervously, trying to warn her without clutching or pushing her into him like he wanted to. He couldn't control the little involuntary thrusts of his hips and he was so close... so close. Zoro leaned slowly back, gasping.

"I'm gonna..." Low whisper. "I'm..." He forced the words louder but it wasn't enough, he couldn't concentrate. The tension suddenly snapped, pleasure that had been painfully stacking up breaking cleanly and audibly - his eardrums bulged as he came. He groaned loudly, his hand spasming on the back of her head.

"Hnn!" Elly swallowed instinctively even as she made the small shocked noise. His essence was warm and it shot towards the back of her throat in multiple splashes. She hadn't noticed if he had ever come this much before. And Zoro spoke as he orgasmed, too - that was new. She perked up, listening. He told her he was going to come, she heard that part, but when he did it was amazing. He was gruff, like usual, but the words were not. Her eyes widened.

"Kitten!" Another spasm. "Mouth," panting, "still on me... my kitten." This last was spoken as he wound down, lower, huskier. he didn't think he even knew he had said it. She lapped slowly at him, cleaning. When he was done she hesitated before looking up. Why she didn't know but she was suddenly shy. Zoro was going to have none of that, however. His big arms wrapped around her and pulled her manfully up to face him.

They stared at each other for a moment and then he kissed her deeply. Her surprise must have showed in her face because he chuckled, a happy, sated sound.

"My kitten," he rumbled, amused.

Sanji peered around the corner of the florist he'd been window-shopping at, his visible eye wide. The building on the other side of the cobbled street was a pet shop, and he'd just seen an unmistakable haramaki-wearing idiot wander inside.

This has got to be good, he chuckled to himself as he quickly crossed over and opened the door. The bell tinkled musically and he immediately spotted the big man in front of a counter looking uncharacteristically nervous.

"So let me guess. This girl you like has a cat, and you want to impress the lady by winning her pet over." The female clerk cocked a quizzical eyebrow at the green-haired man, who seemed uncomfortable for some reason. "Don't be shy - we see it all the time here." She shrugged.

"Oh, yes. Zoro here would do anything to win this little kitten over," Sanji assured the woman with a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he draped an arm about the big man's shoulders. Zoro glanced quickly up, annoyance passing over his face as he grit his teeth and glared at him. His blush intensified but he said nothing to contradict the cook.

"I saw you go inside and wanted to help." Sanji's smile was beautiful. He simply oozed sincerity as he faced the counter and gestured to the clerk. "Can't go wrong with catnip," he pointed out.

"Eh?" Forgetting his ire for a moment the swordsman thought this over. He didn't know much about pets but he remembered that was something they did like. The perverted cook had used mint in the Davy Back fights on that one cat, for instance. He wasn't sure why it worked, though.

"Oh!" The woman smiled broadly. "That's our best seller. We have a spray bottle of concentrated catnip. Spray it on any of her favorite toys, anything, and she'll go wild. Guys sometimes use it on themselves so that it looks like a finicky pet likes them." She cast a sly look at the big guy but he seemed lost in thought.

"'Go wild'?" He finally asked in an odd voice.

"Catnip makes them high." The cook shrugged.

"What!" Startled beyond belief he actually choked a little. The woman was confused by his vehemence.

"It doesn't hurt them," she assured Zoro quickly. "The effects are said to be like an aphrodisiac on the females."

He blushed even harder. "A what."

"Many react to the smell like female cats in heat do. Every cat responds differently to the herb, but most love it. They won't overdose or anything and I've never known any cat to be hurt by it. Otherwise we wouldn't sell it."

"I don't..."

But Sanji was pushing coins across the counter. "He'll take the spray bottle. Thanks."

"Why did you do that?!" Zoro was more than irritable as they left the small shop. In his hand he clutched the small bottle and he glanced at it distrustfully.

"You need to be pushed into doing something. Don't get me wrong. I'm doing this for her sake more than yours." He sniffed. "Christ, just get her alone and spray some on your neck or something. You'll thank me later." He grinned and ducked the punch the embarrassed swordsman threw at his head.

Zoro had ample time to consider what he was thinking of doing as the crew ate dinner together and spent time with their assorted amusements afterward. The night crept inexorably on and he still couldn't decide if it was wrong or not when something happened that made up his mind for him. As he was pacing on the deck between the trees in the deep shadows, he heard a soft noise and peered out. Elly was climbing the rigging on the side of the ship with no apparent effort like the feline she was. He watched as she leapt from one section of ropes to the deck and then back to the mast, tail swaying about her human body and ears flicking in the ocean breeze. She mostly stayed in that "middle" form now, a comfortable medium between human and cat. Her human parts were far more interesting to him as she swung about, though. After he'd watched for a short time he shook his head and stepped out into the dim moonlight.

"Hey."

"Hi," she said cheerfully, dropping to the grass and shaking herself lightly. She ran a hand through her short lavender hair and grinned at him, sharp canines flashing. "Marimo-kun."

"Quit." He glared at her, not really meaning it.

"What'm I supposed to call you, then?" She batted her eyelashes at him. "Mr. Bushido like Robin does?" She made a face.

Zoro blinked.  "You won't believe what that stupid cook called you earlier," he said.

"Oh?"

He glanced quickly aside. "...never mind. You're too old to be a kitten."

"Gee. Thanks." Elly's tone was acidic. Her ears laid back in irritation.

"All right, all right. I didn't mean you were old. You're..." He groped for a word.

"No, I am old. I just thought it would be nice to be called something else for a change." She sniffed. "My name, for one," she muttered under her breath.

"Kitten?"

"Damn it, that's not my name..." She laughed despite herself and laid a hand lightly on his wrist. "All right. It's sort of cute. I like it. But why the hell you'd want to call me something cute I'll never understand."

"Reverse psychology crap?"

"No, the truth." She stuck her tongue out at him. He frowned at her and pulled his hand out of his haramaki to scratch his chest.

"I'll be right back," he told her and quietly left for the men's bathroom.

Elly waited patiently until he strolled back out with a nervous expression on his face.

"That was quick, what -" She paused, sniffing at the air as he came closer. Then her eyes widened. "Did you put cologne on?"

He coughed apologetically. "Not really."

"Catnip." She reached out and poked him gently on the neck. "There is no way that got on you by accident." As he stood there, amazed, she slowly wrapped her arms around him.

"Hey, kit," he murmured. "You all right?"

"I'm fine," she said in a dazed voice. "You know what that does, right? And you put it on your neck, y - your body." Her lavender eyes widened.

"Yeah." He looked terribly embarrassed now. Elly reached up and warmly clasped the back of his big neck in one soft palm.

"All you had to do was act interested," she huffed in exasperation, pulling the stunned young man down to nuzzle where he had sprayed the catnip. She flicked out her tongue and then looked up when she felt him tense. "What's wrong?"

"I shouldn't have done that," he groaned.

"Oh for the love of ...do I look drugged to you? I know that's what you're thinking." Her hands tugged and he blinked down at her. "Come closer," she insisted.

"Cat," he murmured nervously.

"I know what I'm doing and I know what I want, and what I've wanted is you, for what feels like forever."

"What?!"

"You heard me!" Elly climbed up his tense body and bit his neck. His heavy breathing grew even more hoarse as he struggled to hold her without grasping anything untoward. She wriggled against him and he groaned, hands clenching, lightly squeezing her waist.

"I didn't mean ..."

"Yeah, but do you want me?"

"Huh?" His face looked completely adorable when it was confused, she thought as he sweated nervously under her.

"Not 'what you meant'," she explained. "This happened instead. Do you want me?"

"Yes," he gasped quickly. Elly got the sense that he'd forced it out so that he wouldn't think about it too much. From the darkening blush on his face he appeared embarrassed as hell that he'd admitted it.

She purred happily and absently kneaded at his chest with her hands. "Good."

"Not here," he choked, eyes widening further. He crab-walked backwards with her sitting on him until his back rammed up against the tree. The deck was full of shadows there that even the wan moonlight didn't reach, but it still made him nervous.

"I'm certainly not going to wait any longer." She wormed her hand under his haramaki.

"What? Wait..!"

"This thing really does keep your belly warm, doesn't it?"

"Crap..." He arched backwards, his eyes squeezed shut and his face bright red. Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to put the spray, well...

"You even put it here? Well, well, well. We are serious, aren't we?"

Elly sighed. She was exhausted and just wanted the night to be over already. At some point she had passed out in Mori's arms, and has only woken up a few minutes ago. The door opened a crack, spearing the harsh white industrial light from the clinic directly at her cot. A very tall shadow appeared in the doorway, but before he could enter he was accosted by the nurse.

"Are you her boyfriend?" She asked in clipped tones. Elly closed her eyes. This day officially couldn't get any worse. She was spared at hearing him answer, though, because their voices dropped out of range. There was some low talk between them and apparently the nurse decided he was to be trusted, for the light flicked on and he walked in.

"You awake?" He sat down by her side, watching as she nodded. When she didn't offer anything else he was forced to speak again. "They said you're going to have some bruising. It will hurt for awhile."

He paused, frowned as she still remained quiet. No, she wasn't quiet - he leaned over and placed a hand on her arm when he saw she was crying again.

"S - sorry. It was all so wonderful until that happened. I actually felt special." She suddenly wiped a hand roughly over her eyes and sat up. "So can I leave? Did she say?"

"I'll take you home," he said firmly.

The nurse glanced up as the tall guy strode out carrying the bruised and tired girl. Her dress had been ruined but he had given her his jacket to cover the stains and torn material. She smiled to herself as he left. Despite the horrible turn of events, there was a very positive thing that had come of this. She had every confidence in him; he seemed so honest and concerned in asking if there was anything he could do to help.

Takashi was even more quiet than usual as he carried her home. Elly didn't mind. Her arm hurt, the bruising faint now but it would deepen hideously later, as she knew all too well from previous injuries. She just wanted to crawl into bed. Thankfully, the painkiller the nurse had given her had started to kick in halfway there and she was dozing in his arms long before he started to walk up the steps. Haruhi had called the group together and they were all waiting for them in the living room. They exclaimed softly at the sight of a grim Takashi and a very pale Elly. He hesitated only briefly before walking into her bedroom.

It was a beautiful undersea world inside, with fish tanks lining one wall, a large whale shark plush sitting at the foot of the bed and marine books everywhere. Even the lamp he snapped on beside the bed was a blue color with fish on it. He sighed and pulled back the covers with one hand, carefully settling her on her uninjured side.

"M'wha?" Her voice was fuzzy, distorted.

"Sleep," he said softly, pulling the sheet over her. But she reached out and fumbled for his hand.

"Sorry."

Takashi's eyes widened. "Not your fault." She shouldn't be apologizing! But now was not the time for discussions. She trembled suddenly, pressing her face into the pillow and he panicked. How could he make her feel better? Sleep would help, but she was fighting the medicine to try and talk.

"Shouldn't have gone," she mumbled. He frowned and placed her hand back on the sheet.

"Go to sleep," he said more firmly. He bent down and brushed a fall of stray hair away from her cheek. When he straightened, her breathing was slow and regular. He watched for some time until he was satisfied she wouldn't wake.

Discussions were already underway in the living room.

"She looks like she's okay, thank goodness," Tamaki sighed.

"Define 'okay'," Kyoya drawled, raising his eyebrow in disapproval.

"Bruises are better than anything worse!"

"So here's the facts," Haruhi interrupted the two grimly, laying her hands down on the coffee table. "She went into the bathroom and then those girls went in after her. They came out."

"She didn't." Takashi stepped into their circle from the back.

"That's right," Honey chipped in. He glanced worriedly at his cousin. He hadn't seen him this angry in ages.

"I've heard the stories," the brown-haired girl told them. "She's never been really accepted here. Most of the girls make fun of her and are just as nasty as her last roommate. To hear them tell it, she's never had a date until Mori-senpai took her out..."

Takashi raised an eyebrow. "Huh."

"... and she said as much to me earlier, too."

"Never?" Koaru leaned back in his chair.

"Ever?" Hikaru echoed his twin almost perfectly. He scratched his cheek reflectively, his eyes lost in thought. "Then she was really looking forward to that dance. Geez!"

Takashi folded his arms across his chest and nodded in affirmation.

"We have to fix that," Tamaki decided.  "Haruhi? Is that what you're thinking?"

"Well," she drawled, "I'm probably not thinking exactly what you are, but yeah."

Elly went out and purchased a new dress for her date; she even went as far to add accessories and try on jewelry to make sure everything was as perfect as she could make it. Haruhi found all this amusing, and said as much the night before to her friend as she anxiously checked everything for the tenth time that night.

"Relax. It'll be fine." She tossed some vegetables into the salad she was making. Elly's lop-eared rabbit was sitting up attentively, watching her as she handled the vegetables, but no one was paying attention to him at the moment.

"It's just new for me, that's all," Elly blurted out. "I've never been to a dance." She took a deep breath, let part of it out and then yanked a chair up and sat down. "Okay, okay. Have I been annoying about it?"

"No, no." The brunette waved a cheerful hand in the air and put the leftover greens away in the fridge. "Look. I'm not saying you shouldn't be excited. You just need to take it easy. It's not like it's your first date or anything, right?" Although her back was to her roommate at that point, she nonetheless sensed Elly's sudden tension that confirmed her suspicions somewhat. The lengthy pause in which she floundered about for an answer helped, too.

Thankfully, she was saved by the beeping of the oven timer. "The rolls are done! I'll get them." At this point Ari fell over on the floor, twitching. No one was going to give him a carrot! Unforgivable. He picked himself slowly up and moped off to the back room to take a nap.

"Thanks. Ooh, they smell good." Haruhi carefully acted like the last few moments hadn't occurred to spare her any further embarrassment. She wasn't sure why the other girl had never been on a date before, but it was obviously sensitive material. The discussion then turned to other matters as the rolls were brought to the table, and the rest of the night passed without further incidents.

Elly slept well despite her anxiousness, and the day before her date with Takashi passed - eventually -- like they all did. Soon it was time for her to get dressed and wait for him to arrive with Riley. The good-natured driver had told her that he would pick her date up first, so it seemed more traditional than her going to get him. They lived close by on campus anyway, so all he had to do was circle the building lot before coming to get her. Elly checked the window every few minutes until she spotted the car - he'd chosen the limo without even asking, and she blushed a deep red when she saw it pull up in front.

"Oh my god," she gasped softly under her breath.

Haruhi wasn't dressed yet since her boyfriend lived directly beside them. They could leave whenever they liked, so she'd hung around to see what happened. She watched, smiling, as the door opened and Takashi walked in without his cousin. That was something she had seen only once before when the boy had gotten separated from them. He wore a dark blue suit and tie, and she was further astonished at this conscious choice to match what his date was wearing. Elly almost always wore blue if she could possibly help it, and he'd known this. Her reaction was about what she expected - nervous and shy -- but amazingly, Mori was not. He offered her his arm and ushered her into the waiting limo. The vehicle started and she had thought it would be a quiet ride to the hall. He surprised her for the first time that evening by complimenting her.

"You look pretty."

She swallowed very hard past the lump that had formed in her throat. "Th- thank you." She wanted to say that he looked handsome, but found it increasingly hard to speak. Mori touched her hand gently.

"I like blue."

"So do I." She took a deep breath. "You're handsome in blue."

His eyes widened and it was his turn to blush. Mercifully, they pulled up at that moment and he got out quickly to cover his embarrassment. People stared as he walked around the big limo and opened her door. Many of the girls from her class were there, and they dragged their own dates inside as the couple walked in. It was dimly, romantically lit in the large dance hall with a buffet on one side and seating on the other. It was exactly what Elly had thought a dance would look like, and she smiled tentatively at the thought that here she was at last. Her new (and only) girlfriend was there already, fending off advances from her blond-haired beau.

"Haruhi!" She turned around and waved, grinning broadly. "I thought it took a little longer to get here," Elly mused. "Riley must have given us some alone time." She chuckled under her breath at the thought.

The group of girls clustered inside watched with mounting irritation as Takashi led her over to the their friends. As they passed the refreshments, someone bumped into her and spilled about half a glass of punch over her side.

"Whoops! Sorry!"

"Hey," Haruhi frowned. The girl had come seemingly out of nowhere and she was suspicious.

Elly sighed. "It's okay," she said in resignation. The person didn't look all that honest in her apology to her, but she tried to force thoughts like that away. She was getting paranoid - the whole community couldn't be against her. "I'll be right back," she told her date. He nodded silently, watching as she moved towards the bathroom. The door closed shut after her and Mori turned around, waiting calmly for her return. Unfortunately, the battalion of Elly's enemies marked this as their big chance and attacked. He grimaced and tried to ignore them. The girls clustered around, vying for his attention and getting angrier every second he didn't bother to look at them. His expression was bored, his eyes half-lidded and mouth set in what would seem a disapproving line if he had been frowning. He simply waited.

Five minutes passed, and then ten. Takashi motioned Haruhi over, pointing at the door with a concerned look. She immediately picked up on what was wrong and she slipped inside to see if anything was wrong. The young women around him seemed nervous now, and some backed away.

It didn't take long before the bathroom door suddenly slammed open to reveal a struggling Haruhi carrying Elly. His date's face was paler than usual and speckled with blood. The front of her dress was also streaked with red and she was cradling her left arm as they stumbled along. Haruhi looked furious as she half-dragged, half-carried her to an alcove in the wall. Takashi's eyes widened in a rare display of shock. He sprinted quickly over while the rest of them stood staring in shock. Tamaki was already questioning his own girlfriend in concern, shaking as he worriedly checked her for any injuries. The brown-haired girl was wearily explaining that anything on her was from Elly and no, she didn't know what had happened. Just that she'd found her in a corner trying to crawl up into a sitting position and crying.

Takashi considered Elly gravely for a moment as she leaned against the wall, her head hanging down. He reached out with one hand but before he could tilt her face up to talk with her, she raised her head. Her eyes were full of tears.

"Hurts," was all she whispered brokenly. His expression went from shock to sheer fury.

"It will be all right," he said softly in his deep voice. The sound was soothing and she allowed herself to be persuaded. She was so tired and sad and confused that nothing seemed to matter at the moment except his comforting presence. He bent and picked her up, careful not to bump her arm against his chest, and turned slowly to face the curious throng that had gathered some distance from them. The girls backed up when they saw the calculated rage in his eyes.

"Takashi?" She murmured worriedly.

"Let's go," He said shortly, and began striding as fast as possible to the clinic on campus.

The group of guys that were Haruhi's friends were always showing up unexpectedly. It was something of a shock for Elly to be treated so nicely by so many people - especially cute men. She thought she knew why, though, since her new roommate told her that they had been part of a Host Club in Japan. The only thing that truly bothered her was the fact that Takashi had been part of it, too. She smiled when they tried to cajole her into coming shopping with them, but she didn't need to spend any money. She was looking forward to some quiet time and everything they did was noisy!

The very man she'd been thinking of poked his head through the door the moment they were gone. His cousin was right beside him, swinging a beach pail around and wielding the plastic shovel that went with it like a tiny sword.

"Want to come with us instead?"

"To the beach?" Her tired eyes lit up as they always did when thinking about the shore. "Let me change and grab a few things. I'll only be a few minutes!"

"You thought she would say no," Honey crowed with delight.

Takashi shrugged, somehow conveying that he still thought she would have said no.

"Yeah, but this is us."

Since she always had a bag packed for a beach outing, Elly was walking around the corner of the room only a few short minutes later. She had on a lavender and light blue one piece bathing suit and jeans on that were faded and ripped at the knees. She had her cell phone in her hand and was searching for a number to dial.

"You look pretty, Elly-chan," he beamed. Honey grinned and elbowed his cousin, who blinked rapidly several times and then coughed to one side, holding a hand up before his face to cover his blush.

"Thanks, Honey," she smiled. "You look cute. Where did you manage to get bunny swim trunks, anyway?"

"I brought them with me."

"Aha." She held the phone up to her ear. "Riley, can you come and get me and two friends from the campus? Yeah... yeah, I did say friends!" She laughed ruefully. "Um. They're guys. Don't let mom freak out if she's home, okay? Give her a little warning. Thanks."

"How long until the car gets here?"

"It'll only be a couple of minutes. We can go to my house, it's quiet there."

"I thought we were going to the beach."

"We are." She grinned.

It was a quarter of an hour later when the chauffeur had dropped them off in front of a large mansion that they understood. She lived on the beach! Aristotle sniffed at the air, flicking his ears around as they clambered out of the large sedan that had come for them.

"Wow. Your house is neat." Honey stared up at the giant structure, taking in the bonsai sculpted shrubbery lining the pebbled drive.

Elly shrugged. "I love the beach but I like plants, too. Mom and dad don't really care, but they had some special stuff planted around so we don't just have sand and rock like mostly everyone else does." She pointed off to the side. "There's where we go - the beach is past the second gate."

They strolled through and moments later were spreading their blankets on the sandy shore. She wriggled her toes in the sand. "This is nice," she sighed. "I always loved having a private beach."

Takashi nodded. "I like the sea."

"It's the best place to be if you need to relax," Elly agreed. "I'm a little biased, though, I'll admit." She sighed and settled down on the blanket. Since it was fairly small, she had to sit very close to him. He glanced over at where his cousin was blithefully playing in the wavelets close by.

They watched Honey chase a bedraggled Ari down the beach together for awhile. The rabbit's pawprints lined the wet sands in all directions.

The tall man leaned back on his elbows. Seeing him stretched out at length was really quite amazing. His chest was smooth and his abdomen rippled with muscle when he moved. She realized she knew only what Haruhi had told her about him, scarcely anything he had told her himself.

"Are you really the national tendo champion back home?"

"Yeah."

She sighed again and gave up, resting back on the blanket with her eyes covered by her arm for a moment. Astonishingly, he offered something on his own.

"It's no big deal. Mitsukuni is even more powerful than I am."

"Mit-" she looked over where the blond man was making a sandcastle. "Honey? Is strong?"

"Yeah."

"His attitude is half an act, isn't it." She laughed to herself. "Not all, I think... he genuinely likes cute things. But as he gets older he probably adapted this pose to charm people - mainly women."

Takashi cracked an eyelid and peered sideways at her. He was surprised she'd seen through his cousin; not many women did. Honey blinded them with his "little boy" attitude, causing them to forget he wasn't really all that young. Something about that decided him, and he laid a hand on hers, noticing her blush as he did so.

"There's a dance Friday. Want to go?"

Elly had her hair tied back in a blue kerchief and her sleeves rolled up as she went about the kitchen cleaning up. The cake was in the oven and she was certain Honey would love it. She'd had to search for a long time for the recipe, but she liked to do things for the laconic young man and his younger cousin, especially since they had helped her out.

Living with Haruhi was infinitely better than with that horrible girl she'd been assigned to before. Her new room mate was nice and clean and quiet; they got along very well.

She picked up the bowl she'd mixed the batter in and contemplated it for a moment before dipping a finger in to run it along the edge. She got some on her palm and other fingers as well when she did and she laughed faintly to herself.

She froze moments later as a warm hand lightly grasped her wrist. The door - she never heard it open when he came in. How could someone be that quiet?

"Cleaning up?" The low voice was Takashi's, but there was a difference to it. He sounded almost playful. He brought her hand up and slowly licked some of the batter off. Elly swallowed hard, her heart beating so quickly she could barely breathe. This wasn't like him at all!

"Uh, yes. Just cleaning up after a little baking, Mori."

He nibbled on her fingerpad. "Call me Takashi."

"T - Take - but wait, isn't that like, personal? Calling you by your..."

"What are you baking?" He finished cleaning off her hand and to her complete and stunned amazement placed a tender kiss on her palm. Elly's face flamed and she placed her other on the counter to steady herself. He inhaled deeply. "It smells really good. And so do you," he added in that thrilling new tone.

"I - I wanted to thank you both for helping me so much." Her eyes widened as he placed his hands on either side of her, effectively blocking her in one place, so close to his body. "First in class, then with Ari and the new room arrangements..." The large rabbit hopped in when he heard his name and sat close by, ears flicking as he watched.

"A cake," Mori - now Takashi, she thought in a daze -- mused. "It would almost have to be."

"Yeah."

"Mitsukuni will love it," he assured her. "Do I have to share? Or do I get something sweeter?"

"Um." She gulped again. She knew how strongly she was attracted to the man but had no idea he might return the feelings. She understood what they had done before in their other school in Japan, though, and was nervous. Was this an act? Did he do it often to other girls there?

When she didn't answer he turned her around with two hands placed gently on her shoulders. He bent down and was only an inch away from her, his eyes half-lidded and mouth slightly parted, when the door slammed behind them.

"I'm back," Haruhi called. She paused in the doorway with her mouth open, one hand clasping a bag of groceries by the plastic handle. "Oh. Well, now."

Takashi straightened and waved at her. Elly was frantic behind him, waving with both her arms in an effort to do something; she didn't know what.

"It's okay." She shrugged the two off and walked to the counter near the fridge. Ari followed her, nose crinkling as she sniffed the cabbage she was setting aside. "None of my business. But I should have warned you, he gets like this when he hasn't had enough sleep."

"What?" Elly blinked.

"Someone woke him up prematurely." She shrugged and squished the plastic bag into the reusable holder they kept hanging up on one of the cabinet doors.

"You get ... this way when you're sleepy?" She touched his chest lightly and he smiled at her and wrapped both arms about her waist. "Yeek!"

"I don't feel tired."

"You're tired, Mori." Haruhi said flatly. "Listen to you - you're talking. Go take a nap."

The tall man lifted Elly easily into his arms and walked over to the couch in the living room area. Without a further word he settled down, pulling her snugly alongside him and half-draped over his chest. Eventually she relaxed and as she fell asleep, she cuddled innocently closer.

That's the way things stood when Honey found them an hour later. The young man walked over, his eyes shining with glee. Ari was hopping alongside him.

"He didn't sleep good last night," he told the rabbit in a hushed voice, a tiny smile twitching the corners of his lips.

Elly woke up some time later in warmth and comfort, nestled close to Takashi and listening to the strong, steady beat of his heart. She only regretted that once he woke up it would end. Worse yet, her arm was asleep. She must have fidgeted a little too much, for in a moment his eyes opened and he yawned.

Then he slowly blinked at the girl cuddled beside him, focusing in mild surprise.

"You didn't get enough rest before," she explained sheepishly. "So, uh, you got..."

He said nothing. His arm didn't drop from where it rested lightly around her waist but she felt it twitch.

"Haruhi told me you can't help it, it's o - okay," she stammered. "You sort of put me here. That's why, uh, I'm here." She cursed silently at herself. She needed to speak but the handsome, laconic young man was so close. She could smell him, a special mix of all the scents that he used or was around often. Everyone had a smell - the perfume or soap they used. His was spicy; she couldn't tell if it was cologne or just one of those fancy deodorant they made for guys now. Either way his closeness combined with that was making her feel light-headed.

"Sorry." He glanced down at her and saw she was blushing prettily. Two hectic patches of color had sprung up on her cheeks.

"It's okay! I guess it's not your fault, you must have done this to others back..." she trailed off as she saw his expression tighten. "Sorry, Mori." She bowed her head.

"Told you," he said slowly as he got up into a sitting position, careful to bring her along with him. "Call me Takashi."

Elly nearly fainted.

A few doors down the friends were all gathering for an informal lunch. The topic of interest? The growing friendship between the silent young man and their new friend.

"...and then he told her to call him 'Takashi'," Tamaki, the leader of the group, babbled gleefully. "I heard him."

"Only Honey calls him by that name," Hikaru mused thoughtfully.

His twin brother Kaoru made a face. "Yeah, we don't even call him that."

Haruhi made a small face, then grinned. "At least they were quiet."

Half the table erupted in a flurry of sound and shocked movement. Tamaki actually fell over backwards in his chair with a loud clatter.

"WHAT?!"

"Relax, guys. All they did was sleep."

"Why wasn't I told about this?" The blond self-proclaimed 'father' of the group was bawling. "I'm so happy for him! I thought he'd never find someone."

"Why not?" The twins spoke in unison.

"Well, I mean, he's not actually such a lovable guy. Not like me." He gargled when Haruhi whapped him in the side.

"Cut that out."

Several weeks passed in which they slowly got to know each other. Elly got used to the tall man's silence and Honey bonded with Ari almost every day. They normally left before the screaming room mate got back, but they'd had a brush or two with her and they knew how hard she was on their new friend. They never thought anything bad would come of it, though.

"The curtains are open." Takashi noticed the difference in the small apartment the moment they got close that day. It was a nice afternoon, sunny and warm and great for their walk.

Honey frowned. "Didn't Elly-chan say the fish wouldn't like it?"

His big cousin grunted in affirmation. They reached the door and knocked once, lightly. It creaked slowly open to reveal a girl nothing like the one they had seen before. Her eyes were red from weeping yet they flashed with such anger Honey took a step back, startled.

"What's wrong?"

"My roommate decided she needed sunlight in the living room for a party. Right away. While I was gone for half the day with shopping and field research." Her voice was tightly controlled as she spoke.

"The fish?" Takashi glanced past her in dismay. The tanks were gone.

"Everything died." Her face crumpled and she shook her head. "I can't... sorry. I'm sorry." She quickly closed the door before they could see her cry.

The tall young man turned and strode abruptly back to where their friends were holding court. Honey's eyes were filled with tears and that only added to his irritation. When he found them, the gaggle of ladies around them scurried like frightened doves as he plowed through, his face like a thundercloud. He walked straight on until he reached the studious Kyoya, seated as usual off to the side with his clipboard.

"Honey. Mori," the other man said quietly without looking up. "Where have you two been?"

"Out." He frowned harder. "Kyoya. Can I ask a favor?"

"A favor?" He set his book down on his lap, his eyes widened slightly. "This is unusual. What is it?"

"We need to help the lady that was at the restaurant the other day!" Honey blurted before his cousin could say anything. "The lady hurt the fishes she was taking care of! On purpose! And she's always yelling at her and saying horrible things, and..."

"Is that true? Are you concerned about this woman?" He calmly ignored the rest of Honey's outburst. The younger man slid down off Takashi's back and stalked off, crying with frustration. A herd of girls clattered immediately to his side and tried to console him.

Takashi's dark eyes remained expressionless but Kyoyo was amazed to see a blush suddenly burn across the bridge of his nose and cheeks. He simply nodded.

"Is it really that bad, Mori?"

"It's bad," Takashi said firmly.

"An abusive roommate?" Kyoya pursed his lips. He looked again at the silent young man whose eyes now had a pleading look in them. "Does she maybe need a little help finding more habitable quarters with a better, ah, person?"

He nodded gratefully.

Back at the apartment complex, Elly was at a complete loss. She wanted to cry but was too tired. She'd been yelled at almost the whole time after the two guys had left. Supposedly it was for showing some emotion over the cruel act that had decimated her tanks. She, however, thought it was because the other girl was jealous.

It didn't matter that she'd yelled back in defense of herself and her lost little flushed friends. That had only made things worse.

So she sat out on the small porch area, her head down on her knees while she tried to think of some way to salvage this situation. That was how they found her when the two young men arrived back some hours later.

Takashi sighed and place a hand on her shoulder.

"Mori?" She looked up, her dark eyes wide and filled with the pain of her simple loss. "I - I'm sorry. They were just fish, she keeps telling me and she - she's right, but ..."

He placed the gentle hand on top of her head this time. "No."

"They were your friends!" Honey pouted.

"Yes," she said, grateful to them for understanding. "They were. And I was studying them for several projects as well." She sighed and looked up at them. "What can I do, though? There's no use trying to change anything until my lease is up. Otherwise I'll lose my half of the security deposit. I'm paying my own way for that, so I can't afford it. I'll have to do everything her way until then or she might even hurt Ari."

Takashi's eyes hardened and Honey shook his head violently. "Nuh-uh, she won't! We found you a better room mate! You can move and stay there the whole time you're in school. And it's close to us!" He chirped this last happily.

Elly frowned, confused. "But - but I can't just move out of the..." She trailed off as she saw a group of young men walking towards her. They were all chatting and joking, even fighting with each as they moved closer. "I have nowhere to go. Every apartment is booked."

And she recognized them.

"What the heck is going on here?"

"I'll tell you later," the brown-haired girl in front said in a resigned tone. "Let's get you packed up and out of here before they decide to 'help' any more."

A few days later she was settled into her new apartment.

It didn't seem to matter that she wasn't taking many classes at the school; money smoothed away all problems and technically, she was enrolled. Elly wasn't confused about the school's willingness to accept her, she was more puzzled by the acceptance of this new group of friends. She broached the subject while poking about her transported tanks.

"Do they go around helping everyone that needs it like this? I mean, it's admirable, and I'm not ungrateful or anything. It's just that it was so sudden. They don't know me that well."

"I don't want to embarrass you or anything," Haruhi murmured, not looking up from the book she was reading. "But I heard Mori was the one that pressed the issue. Mori doesn't speak out a lot, I'm sure you noticed."

Elly laughed softly as she rummaged through the box that held her aquarium supplies. "Yes. It's hard not to."

"Well," Haruhi drawled, "he's a good judge of character. And he never asks for anything for himself."

"Hmm." Her tentative new friend blew out a little puff of air and went about her business, sorting equipment for the fish she would be purchasing soon. Haruhi added ten additional points to her good values, noting that she didn't chatter on and on like most girls she knew. And she was considerate! The fish would be housed in a spare section of the apartment away from windows and blocked by screens to create a free-standing room in one corner. She had asked for opinions about them first and this had been what they worked out.

Personally Haruhi was glad the guys had taken it upon themselves to shove the new person at her. They helped each other with their respective languages and cultures. They were both learning a lot more than when they was just taking classes and going out once in awhile.

Elly had quit her job - something she had eventually intended to do -- much to her boss's dismay. But after writing to her distant parents they were more than happy to add the extra money she needed. In fact they sent so much now that she was embarrassed. She knew they could afford it, but this was why she had taken a year off to earn money herself and learn how to manage it better. When you had so much it didn't matter anymore, you didn't appreciate it.

A week later the tanks had been set up and were ready for a fresh batch of fish. The largest had taken the longest amount of time since it was a saltwater tank and Elly hadn't wanted to purchase anything for any tank until the big "Hobbyist Expo" that was being held in the college auditorium. She was sitting at the kitchen table finishing up a list of species she might want and checking off her water bags filled with trading stock since she'd managed to save some sponges, snails and plants from her previous tanks. She was so intent that she didn't hear the door open or the voices in the living room as Haruhi greeted her guests.

Takashi stepped quietly into the doorway and stood there, hands folded across his chest and head tilted to one side. Elly was busily writing, pausing from time to time to blow at an unruly lock of hair that had fallen out of a clip she'd jabbed somewhat messily into her side locks to keep them in place. Haruhi poked her head into the room, raised an eyebrow, and poked him in the side.

"Mori-senpai," she hissed under her breath in Japanese. He glanced down at her and she made imperious shooing motions towards the table before rushing back into the living room to entertain Honey.

Elly glanced up. "Mori?"

"Hi."

"Hi." She smiled at him, unsure of what to say. He was wearing casual clothing today: jeans and a t-shirt. He wore them with the same ease he wore everything, an indifference to his outfits that made them somehow more attractive.

He walked over and bent down until he was next to her, looking down at her list. "Are you going out?" He asked quietly.

"Yeah, actually..." She blushed when she saw how close he was. "I was going to pick up some new plants, fish and stuff for the tanks."

He regarded her for a moment, then placed a hand on the table next to hers with a peculiar kind of empathis. "Want some company?"

"Would you like to come?" She regarded him in surprise. He nodded. "Okay. Prepare to be bored, though." She smiled. "I get carried away when I'm looking for new additions for my tanks."

Elly was completely astonished when Takashi seemed genuinely interested in all the little creatures at the Expo. He had, she saw, a natural affinity for animal life she hadn't noticed before. He loved animals. She had known her rabbit liked him, but then Ari liked almost everyone - including that bad ex-roommate of hers. He'd always been hopping around after her begging for attention, which had just made things worse.

He didn't speak much, but she was getting used to that. And of course Honey came along, which meant there was enough chatter for everyone.
