His Little Experiment

The Laboratory had a scent that had drawn her closer and closer to it, pulling her in though the building seemed darker than the ones around it, more terrifying. She'd crawled past the bushes lining the toy shop to the medical building with some trepidation, hoping that she would find a kindly person to help answer some of her questions.

Why was she different?

The answer might not be here, she thought glumly as she looked around, her cat's eyes immediately adjusting to the dimmer light inside the building. It was downright dark, the only light some kind of unnatural blue glow that looked like it came from a weird ectoplasm inside large tubes. Whatever was inside those tubes was concealed, she noted with much relief. She wasn't sure she wanted to know.

"Ah," a voice suddenly whispered out of the shadows. Elly jerked and spun towards it.

"Who's there? The door was open, I..."

"Not anymore." Indeed she heard the pneumatic locks snick shut.

"Uh oh." She was trapped inside the laboratory with the Doctor. Everyone in Roliana knew about him, of course. If you wanted a different eye color or skin type all you had to do was pay him in gold and he'd provide the service. Everyone who came away from his "shop" went off happy but...distracted. As if they couldn't remember something that bothered them quite a bit. Elly flicked her ears nervously, her tail swishing behind her. Two glowing red eyes were staring at her from the corner.

"Ist du, katze?" He stepped out of the dark and into the light around one of the cylinders that flanked the room. She blushed suddenly, eyes darting over his lean form. My goodness, but he was attractive! He had red eyes and white, sharp-looking teeth that glinted as he smiled at her. His body was whipcord lean and his lab coat - a long white shirt really -- was buttoned carelessly across the front so that his neck and part of his chest was revealed. She noted long, curving scars that swept around his throat.

"Dr. Franz?" He bowed mockingly, a hand running up to pull back the mop of thick brown hair that covered his forehead. He pushed a pair of very doctor-ish spectacles up the bridge of his nose.

"Hallo," he murmured. Elly's throat tightened as she watched his eyes roam down over her body ...much the same as she had done to him. Her cheeks flushed and she shook her head to clear it.

"I came to see you to ask some questions," she choked as he drew closer. He nodded absently, eyes still wandering over her body in a way that made her blush hotter. "Can you answer them?"

"Mit Vergnügen," he whispered fervently. "Was machst du heute abend?" He reached out and pulled her close to him by the wavy maroon and purple-striped tail she sported. Unlike the other Chesires on Roliana her tail had a double tip. He turned it over in his palm, staring at it in a worse distracting way than how he'd stared at her body. She could only gasp for air, shocked. Her ears were laid back in irritation. She should be fighting him but his scent was overpowering.

"Um. I don't speak German? Not really," she added, making a small face. She knew a few curses and some odd phrases but that was about all.

"Ich bin ..." Franz saw the blank look on her face and waved a hand around, searching for what he wanted to say. His English was all right but she figured he didn't know that much of the language very well. He spoke in a quiet, serious tone that belied the maniacal grin on his face. "...vant to spend zhe night vith du."

"What?" Elly blinked. If she'd heard correctly, this was the fastest come-on she had ever received. Taken aback she flicked her ears nervously as she thought, mind racing as fast as her pulse. Franz grimaced and then sighed, a fang showing clearly when he opened his mouth. The canine glinted in the soft lab light. Then his face brightened again, a wicked gleam sparkling in his eyes. They were already disconcerting, an albino sort of red that appeared to glow as her purple ones did in the dark. But she wasn't human.

What was he?

She didn't have much time to consider before he'd relinquished his hold on her split tail and stepped quickly around to her side. His arms snaked around her middle and drew her close.

"Ja," he agreed as she swore at him.

"Great," she gasped when he bent to pull her bubblegum scarf out of the way. The maroon silk swished to the floor and he nipped happily at the exposed flesh of her neck. "Hey! What kind of man are you - no kissing?" His reply was a dark little grumble in German that she couldn't decipher and a quick lap of his tongue.

"Turn around zhen." He smiled as she spun in his arms. The doctor was pleasantly sized, she noticed as they came together. She wouldn't have to reach up for him yet he was slightly taller than her, maybe an inch or so. He only had to bend his head down to press his mouth against hers and he slid an arm up her back as he did. She didn't think about that until his palm cupped the back of her head, twining in her purple hair and caressing the velvet of her ears. The deliberate rubbing heightened the kiss and she found herself falling gently against the blood-stained lab shirt, panting softly.

"You ..."

"Vhat?" His grin was wide. "Zhe doctor made zhis species." He ran his free hand over the curves of her back with a sort of possessive pride. "Franz told du he likes die katzen, ja?" Elly's mouth dropped open. He snickered softly and slipped his hand around to turn her chin up to face him.

"Franz hast veakness vor die katzen," he said as she hissed in protest.

"No kidding," Elly grumbled sourly. "It's so nice to meet your maker and realize he's a horny bastard." The doctor laughed so hard and long at this she pulled slightly back to watch him. She was suddenly reminded of those B-movie night marathons Jaire and the girls had thrown.

Mad scientists and all.

"Du are mein vonder of science," he told her seriously. "Katze ist more special than the others."

"Yeah, but now I know it's just some genetic freak you probably triggered," she sulked. He touched her pouty lip with one long finger and shook his head when she would have wrenched away. His hand grasped her tail firmly again, exploiting her weakness ruthlessly.

"Sei still!" He didn't use a harsh tone but it was definitely a command not a request. Before she could protest he took a step forward, pinning her body to the wall behind her with his own. He bent to kiss her again, this time sinking his sharp teeth into her lower lip and darting a quick tongue inside when she gasped. His lithe, slender body belied his strength and she was surprised to find she couldn't raise her arm if he was holding her wrist.

And his body was warm and smelled even better now. His arousal had brought out a stronger pheromone than any she'd ever smelled. Maybe he'd augmented it, he probably had the capability to do that sort of thing. She might ask him later but now he was biting at her tender neck again, his hands holding her and his lab coat flapping around them. Wait...flapping? Had he unbuttoned it all the way? She didn't know when it had happened but his white skin was naked to the waist now, crossed with odd scars and handsome maybe even because of that fact.

She lost track of time for a long wonderful moment, closing her eyes and letting him do what he pleased. Indeed she couldn't do anything else - the doctor had trapped her that securely. His hands were on the buttons of her pants now, unfastening and pushing the fabric down.

"Wait!"

"Nein," Franz told her firmly. He bit harder, drawing blood from her shoulder. She gasped and swallowed hard, throwing her freed hands around his neck, feeling the scars there and trying to hold on. She was unable to concentrate or know if this was what she wanted. Things were happening far too fast!

"All right, just don't... oh my god." His eyes glowed in the dimness of the lab as he shoved his own pants down.

"Don't vhat?"

"We're standing," she tried to protest but got no further when his mouth captured her own in a bruising kiss. His lips were flecked faintly with blood - her blood -- and he was growling deep in his throat as he thrust a hand down to where their bodies pressed hottest together. She guessed his intent and tensed, hands digging into his shoulder blades.

It hurt, she couldn't deny that. It hurt and burned as he stabbed into her body but it wasn't all pain and in the end she screamed as loudly as he could have wished her to.

"Katze," he rasped against her shoulder as he came, threshing wildly against her and then sighing with great relief. The glowing blue light from the lab played on his diminished member as he slipped out of her, panting like a wild animal. Fluid dripped to the floor that looked bluish but couldn't have been. Elly didn't notice.

"No one's not going to believe this," she gasped, her eyes wide.

"Nein? Tell zhem 'Laboratory K-E-B'," he smiled, biting at her shoulder yet again. "Du see, it vill vork." He paused. "Katze vill stay." He waved a hand at a door she hadn't noticed before and grinned at her expression.

"Tell me you had a bed in there."

"Ja," he chuckled shortly, red eyes growing feverishly in a way she would soon come to recognize.

Roronoa Zoro slung the bundle he had with him on the bed. "It's not much," he noted, glancing around the room.

"Hah?" The bundle wriggled and a purple-striped form shot out. Elly yawned, showing all of her sharp little teeth. She sniffed a few times and stared at him questioningly. He snorted.

"Should be better considering what I paid." Elly shrugged herself into her more human form and sat up on the edge of the bed. Her tail twitched as she watched the grumpy man fold his arms.

"It's not too bad." She smiled, flashing those sharp fangs at him again. "And you saved a bunch by having a stowaway." The big man's eyes narrowed and he was next to her in one fluid motion, snaking an arm around her waist and grinning more fiercely than the nekomata herself.

"You know what pirates do to stowaways?"

"Yeek!" There was much laughter and muffled growling from both parties as they fell back over the bed. The door handle turned a little. It was a soft sound and neither heard it; they were too busy. Besides, Zoro had locked it. No reason to worry. His boots hit the floor and soon clothing was being flung out from under the bed sheets. A wadded-up haramaki hit the door with a loud bump and the rattling grew more pronounced. The knob began to jerk back and forth frantically.

"Stay still. I'm gonna keelhaul you."

"Under what?" More laughter and a low growl from Zoro.

"Oh no! The horror of being dragged under your body..." Pause. "Um. Again and again." She purred faintly.

"Get underneath, dammit!" Various cat sounds and playful reprimands were cut short as the door rattled more furiously than ever and then it slammed open. A young girl tumbled in head over heels with a shocked gasp. She hit the edge of the bed frame and then sat up, whimpering and rubbing a lump that was just starting to form on her forehead. She looked up and her eyes widened, then narrowed.

"What are you DOING?!" she screeched.

"What the hell?!" Zoro flattened himself over the nude woman in bed with him in an attempt to hide her nudity. "Get out! Shut the door!" Elly jerked with stunned amazement and echoed his statements. But the girl was shaking her fist at them.

"You're sick! You can't do this!" The diminutive little creature stamped her foot. Elly peered out from between a crook in the big man's arms.

"Excuse me?" Her ears pricked forward. Now that she was paying attention she could see it was a skinny slip of a human. She was young, and the older woman blushed at the idea that she had seen them together. That shouldn't happen. "Where's your parents?" Another furious stamp. It appeared from the look on the girl's face that stamping on carpet wasn't that satisfying.

"You're not even supposed to be here!" She whined. Zoro raised an eyebrow. He was trying to extricate himself from Elly without exposing them both in the process. Apart from several very moist sounds and one embarrassing moment when he dropped the sheet from his clenched fist he wasn't getting anywhere. He finally growled angrily and flopped back down.

"Paid for the room. Can be anywhere I want," he said firmly. The girl's face twisted with rage. Elly noticed with distaste that she was even younger than she had originally thought.

"But she's not even human! That's ...ew!"

"Listen, kid, this has nothing to do with you." She propped herself up and waved her lover partially off her. As the brilliant kid had pointed out, she wasn't all human. She had cat ears and a tail with double tips on the end, and her canines were quite sharp. She laid those feline ears back in irritation as she tried to reason with the small human.

"Yes it does! I don't want it to happen!" Zoro choked when he heard this. It was unclear whether he was stifling laughter or some other emotion, but the whiny little brat didn't notice. She was too busy staring at the other woman in rage.

"Too late, dear," Elly tried to reason with her. She leveled a finger at the girl and shook it in a scolding fashion. "You're trespassing on our privacy, you know. Didn't your parents teach you manners?"

"I got the door open. You're in trouble!" Now she was virtually hopping up and down on both feet. Watching a preteen throw a screaming temper tantrum was not something either of them wanted to do at that particular moment. Zoro cleared his throat and the kid froze when she heard his voice.

"If you don't want to see it, go away," he grunted.

"It's that simple, kiddo," Elly agreed.

"But you shouldn't be doing this! It's not right!"

"I don't have to justify my actions with you!" She was getting exasperated and her fangs were showing as she snarled. Elly took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. It wasn't worth it, after all. "All of this is because you think this should be you here, isn't it?" She asked pointedly. Now Zoro did choke. His eyes grew wide and he shrank back from the petulant little girl.

"Cat, get her out," he hissed urgently.

"I'm trying." Elly rolled her eyes. "Look. It's not you here. It's me, and I'm old enough to be doing this. Besides, this is a room we paid for and you have no right to yell at us for loving each other." The big man groaned and buried his flaming face in the covers.

"I'm starting to hurt," he pleaded.

"I can't make you leave." The older female shrugged. "But you'd better."

"I'll get the cops." Lank hair swung madly around her red face. She pulled a horrible grimace and Elly averted her eyes with a shudder. "Then you'll be in trouble."

"No, I'm done talking," the older woman muttered. "This is ridiculous."

"You're a - a pedophile!" The kid yelled triumphantly. She had found something she thought was significant. She blinked when the big man slowly resurfaced from under the thin sheets. He turned his face towards her and it was bleak, stern.

"I'm twenty-one," he growled from between clenched teeth. "Legal."

"She's older!"

"So I'm lucky," Elly giggled. "I can love a younger man, can't I?"

"Well, well, you're so old!"

"Robin's 30," Zoro grumbled.

"That's right, isn't it?" Elly mused thoughtfully.

"Yeah." He shrugged.

"I bet you'd put up with this if it was her, girl," she smiled sweetly. "But it's not. And what's the difference, really?"

"But this isn't real - he's not. You're crazy."

"He's not?"

"Not what?" Zoro looked mildly surprised.

"Well. You're not in this manga - this anime -- uh." She stuttered and stared round her wildly. This wasn't anime or manga. They were arguing about something she had said moments before wasn't pertinent. Not if any of this wasn't real.

"If none of it is 'real life' anyway, does it matter?" Elly showed all her teeth in a very nasty grin. Zoro carefully hid a smile behind one hand as she started to get up. "Isn't real life what really, really matters? Not something going on behind closed doors that you aren't supposed to be looking at anyway?"

"Uh."

Elly smiled beautifically. "And if this isn't 'real', that means I can go all primal on your ass and no one can do anything about it." She flexed her claws at the now-trembling youngster, who blanched visibly. She turned suddenly and fled, slamming the door behind her as loudly as she had burst it in moments before.

"Finally," Zoro blew out air in relief. "Still hurt, though."

"Well, let's see what I can do to fix that," Elly purred comfortably.

The T-Rexaur swiped at Irvine with its heavy tail. The slender cowboy leaped nimbly over it, but wasn't prepared enough to meet a counter swipe of those needle-sharp claws. He fell back, gritting his teeth and clutching at his side.

"Heh. Too slow, pretty boy." Seifer flicked his massive gunblade out, slicing the mighty lizard across the nose. Elly was watching Irvine out of the corner of her eye. She absently snapped several cuts at the T-Rexaur with her leg whips.

"Are you okay, Kinneas?" She called out a little anxiously. "This one's strong! And we only have one cure spell remaining."

"Still shootin', aren't I?" The brunette boy responded shortly. He suited action to the word, jumping up and aiming carefully at the lizard's midsection. Seifer glanced over at Elly, watching her watch Irvine. A small flicker of annoyance crossed his coldly handsome features. He attacked next, triggering the gunblade as it connected for a more powerful strike. There was a small explosion, but still the giant reptile lived--and now it was angrier than ever. Elly had to miss her chance to attack by ducking instead as it tried to grasp her in its powerful jaws. She got lucky, but the wounded Irvine was slower, and the creature was lunging for him. She shrieked and desperately tried to draw the monster away by repeated blows to its side, but it snapped him up in a second and threw him to the ground. He grunted when he slammed into the mossy undergrowth. The slender brunette could barely lift himself up after that massive chomp, but he reeled back into position, struggling to bring his gun to bear. He was doubled over, panting hard and trying to keep the T-Rexaur in sight.

The mighty creature seemed to decide he was easy prey now. They watched it sizing him up, its head dipping, sniffing at the blood that was seeping through the young man's vest and trickling onto his chaps.

"Irvine!" She ran as fast as she could, but Seifer was already there. He pushed her to the ground and shook his head. Elly sat down hard, her legs splayed out from under her skirt. The silly yellow and red bow her female uniform had flapped in a small breeze.

"He's going to get killed!" She snarled at him. "Don't you care?!"

"And how is getting yourself killed going to help?" Seifer sighed when he saw her frown at him. Her teeth bared, she flew at the giant monster and started throwing every tactic she could at it.

"Don't be a hero!" Seifer growled. "Come on!" But he saw it was useless. He accessed the situation bitterly. He didn't want any of them to be a monster snack. And of course, he couldn't let Irvine be hurt either. Fingering his massive blade, he nodded once and slid it into its sheath-like holster. "All right," he murmured.

Elly had actually run out of strength before the T-Rexaur could be defeated. Spent and helpless, she was on her knees on the moist ground watching Irvine desperately trying to get a bead on his target. The giant lizard reared back, lunging forward...

...and suddenly, Seifer was in his place. He'd hurled himself several feet at the last second to throw himself in harm's way. Elly stood frozen in place, her hand outstretched, her mouth open in a soundless yell. Seifer cast thunder magic directly into the beast's mouth right before the jaws clamped firmly down upon him. The anguished girl heard the scarred older boy scream in agony when fangs sank into his chest and waist. She rushed forward again, but at that moment the thundara he had cast erupted deep within the creature's belly. It dropped Seifer and staggered back, its tail slashing through the air. Elly chanced a peek over her shoulder at the young cowboy, but he had managed to crawl someplace further away from the impending fall of the beast. The T-Rexaur finally fell over, the sounds of its hissing and snarling cutting off abruptly as it crumbled into ashes. Then the ashes blew away into the wind, flittering across their faces.

"Nice job," Irvine coughed quietly. He blinked at Elly and passed out. A quick check told her his bleeding had stopped, but Seifer had taken the massive ending blow intended for him, and he was in worse condition. The older blonde boy's eyes were squeezed tightly shut, his mouth pressed into a thin white line. He lay on his side, curled partially into a ball with his hands clutching his lower chest area. His writhing was quite inspired. She reached out and lightly touched his brow, and he moaned. The sound was so weak, so un-Seifer that she flinched a little. He had to be hurt badly, and they didn't have enough healing magic left. The training center this day had been filled with tougher monsters, and many had seized upon this better-than-average opportunity to hone their skills. But even they had underestimated their opponents. Elly thought fast, and realized they had a chance if she could get them to the secret area. Someone might be there that might have a few healing cure spells - with luck, a curaga -- to share.

"Let's go, Irvine," she muttered. "I know you were spared the last hit...you have to have some strength to walk." She lightly slapped the tanned boy's face, and those icy-blue shooter's eyes snapped open.

"Must be luck," he grunted as he staggered to a half-kneeling position. "Always...wake up...next to a pretty lady." He coughed again, faintly, then managed to prop himself up on his rifle. By ingeniously using it as a walking stick, he could move about. Elly smiled at him, relieved. "Seifer?" He asked next. She pointed, a worried frown crossing her pale features. "Hey - wake up, scarboy."

"Seifer?" She bent closer to him. "We really have to get moving," Elly fretted. "Another monster could come any minute, and we're definitely not prepared!" She slipped an arm around him and hefted. Irvine hobbled over and grasped the scarred boy's other side. Seifer hissed sharply and grabbed at his lower belly, but he said nothing. He was too battered to walk, so they half-carried, half-dragged him until they reached the now-somewhat questionable safety of the secret area. Irvine collapsed in a half-faint against the farthest wall while Elly bundled Seifer close to her for an examination. He didn't protest when she quickly stripped his cloak and vest off, baring the sleekly defined chest muscles he'd worked so hard to achieve. But even though he was in agony, his hand checked hers when she would have unbelted his pants.

"No," he coughed. "Let me be."

"Seifer, there's a huge gash running down your chest!" Her hair swung wildly about as she grew more agitated and waved her hands around. Seifer had a vague thought that she resembled Chicken wuss in this particular moment. Then his thoughts wavered when he felt her hands again. He tried to shake his head at her, but pain flared when he moved his neck and he immediately grew limp again. The teeth marks of the giant monster were sunk into his skin just above his navel and on the upper part of his chest. One flat male nipple had been nicked, and it oozed blood, as all the cuts and punctures did. Elly whisked off her training uniform and cast a small water spell, wetting the cloth. She cleaned all the wounds she could see on his stomach and chest in silence. It seemed they were alone in the secret area. No one else had been lucky enough to get this far. They could rest for as long as they needed until they had enough strength to journey back.

Seifer finally closed his eyes and relaxed as she gently daubed the blood and dirt off him. It hurt to have someone touching those cuts, but she was gentle and the cloth cool. He gasped a little when he felt a light pat on his cheek, and opened his eyes to stare directly into her ice-blue ones. Her gaze was unnerving, a blunt look - almost a challenge. Irvine was saying something, and he tore his attention away from his contemplation of her eyes to the battered cowboy.

"Well, we can split the one cure spell we have," he was saying quietly. "It'll be enough if we can rest ...for a time."

"We have time," Elly said drily. "No one knows we're here, and no one was able to get this far yet." She concentrated and then spread her hands over at both of the men, casting a half-cure spell at each. A light thrill ran through Seifer's body as the spell took its effect. He swallowed hard when the it ran down the wound on his inner thigh, however. She hadn't cleaned it, and that complicated matters somewhat. Irvine was sighing with relief.

"Much obliged, my lady." He even went so far as to tip his hat, a sure sign he was feeling better. "I owe you one - maybe we can settle the score Sunday evening?"

"Now I know you're all right," Elly said blandly. "Thanks, but ah...Seifer?" She turned back to the older boy, who hadn't been able to suppress a moan.

"Nothing." He stared defiantly at her but his penetrating gaze, which always worked so well, failed again.

"Shut up and let me look." She ran a light hand down his chest past the healing wounds and grasped his belt buckle. Seifer exhaled sharply, blue eyes widening.

"Oh, my. If y'all just want to be alone, I'll move over here..." A faint chuckle came from the far end of the room.

"Kinneas! Stop laughing or I'll make you wish that d@mned 'Rex had gutted you on the field!" He shook his fist feebly at the snickering brunette. Elly had worked the buckle off in the meantime, and was gently tugging on the pants.

"I'll just..." Irvine tilted his hat back over his eyes and turned his lanky back on them both, his side resting against the wall.

"I'm fine," Seifer tried to growl, but the words he spoke seemed not his own. They sounded faint and weak. He grimaced at the sound of his own voice. Elly slapped his hand away, her fingers lightly brushing the sore slash. Seifer winced.

"See? You're not," she rebuked him. "You're hurt, and I don't care - I have to clean this or it's going to take forever to heal, spell or no spell." She rinsed her ragged jacket again and began to blot gently. He was too tired at the moment to further resist. In fact, he had to privately admit that he was feeling better as she finished cleaning that last big cut. He was soon laying on his back, oblivious to the fact that his torn pants were down around his ankles.

"...well built," Elly said.

"What?" Seifer was wide awake in a moment. "What did you say?"

"I said, you're, ah, very well built," she said shyly. He glanced at her and saw to his amazement that was blushing hard. It made her pale features stand out all the more, with the lone color on her face those twin patches of red on her cheeks. He couldn't think of anything to say. The faint early sunlight stained the small open area with a soft light. It fell upon her and to Seifer's bemused eyes, she looked like she was glowing. He watched her wring her jacket out and settle next to him. She was like his very own guardian angel. Realizing what he had just thought, he struggled, trying to force some anger up. It certainly would be a lot easier if he had to deal with a known emotion, rather than the one that was tugging at him now. He felt confused. The image of the angel stuck with him as she reached out towards him. Her fingertips lightly grazed the old scar across the bridge of his nose, sliding down to caress his cheek. He blinked with surprise.

"You know, you wear this scar well." She murmured. Seifer reached up and grasped her hand. He had discarded his gloves awhile back, and his hand was warm and strangely smooth for a soldier-to-be.

The gloves must account for that, she thought vaguely.

"Thank you," he said gravely. Gently, so as not to frighten her, he moved her hand away from his face until it was resting by her side again. He was alarmed to see her reaction. Elly's face was flaming, and small tears stood in the corners of her eyes as if she'd realized she'd said something wrong. She cleared her throat and whipped her head to the side.

"You know, Irvine, I guess I could maybe go wi-" Elly called out crisply, turning to the long-haired young man. Irvine raised the brim of his hat. When she trembled beside him he knew: she was doing this because she thought he'd rejected her. Seifer understood rejection. His heart beat faster in his chest and he opened his mouth.

"...not possibly go out on Sunday," Seifer finished for her. Elly jumped at the sound of Seifer's voice. It was very firm and commanding: his disciplinary tone. A slow, langorious smile spread across the sharpshooter's lightly tanned features when he heard his companion.

"Oh?" Was all he said. He raised a long eyebrow at Seifer.

"You have a problem with that, Kinneas?" Seifer growled. Inwardly, his stomach felt a trifle queasy. She wasn't like the assorted lapdog girls that cluttered the Garden's hallways, especially like the ones Kinneas always had surrounding him. He grimaced inwardly. She wouldn't be told what to do, and he didn't know how this would end up. She stood and placed her hands on her hips. Seifer waited. If she decided on the other young man he could do nothing.

"What?" Baffled, the object of their little discussion stepped between and into their line of view. Her long locks swayed down, almost obscuring her puzzled blue eyes. Seifer stared, amazed at how long her hair was when she pulled it out of that stupid pigtail.

"Well, if you would be with that thin pile of cowskin than me..." He leaned back against the wall across from Irvine.

"Was that a half-assed attempt to ask me out?" She asked wonderingly. Irvine snorted laughter, and Seifer slapped a palm to his face.

"Shit," he gritted through clenched teeth.

"Two good-looking guys want to go out with me?" Elly seemed baffled. Seifer actually blushed.

"Good looking?"

"Naturally." Irvine sniffed. He winked slyly at Seifer and mouthed 'watch this!' "Elly, sweetheart..." He walked over and slipped an arm around her. "...you looked incredibly gorgeous out there, and not only that," he added, "You saved both our lives." She backed away from the smooth-talking cowboy and frowned at him, eyes narrowing.

"You don't need any dates, Kinneas. I've seen your little harem of girls." Seifer had to laugh. He did it as quietly as he could - it hurt his belly -- but Irvine heard, and he scowled at him. He didn't look half as pretty when those full lips were peeled back in a snarl. Elly moved back to Seifer's side and slipped an arm around him.

"Are you a little better now?" She asked, concerned.

"Much," he murmured. "Um. Thanks. But don't noise this around so much, all right?" A thought struck him. "And don't tell Chicken wuss that I got this badly hurt by that f#cking 'Rexaur." He regretted the words the instant they were out of his mouth. A mention of Zell and she dropped her hand from his side in a moment, a gentle smile touching her lips. Seifer stared longingly at them, wishing he could make her smile like that. The tattooed freak had a secret admirer that really wasn't so secret. And he didn't even do anything about it! He ground his teeth in frustration. It was all so unfair.

"Zell!" she exclaimed. Seifer jerked and then swore fluidly.

Oh, this was even more unfair. His unknowing rival had just entered the room. The slender martial artist was wearing his usual: skater-style baggy shorts with his strapped black shirt and jacket with blue flames etched on the red sleeves. His best metal knuckles were on, and they gleamed in the sunlight as he whipped his fists through the air excitedly.

"The he11 happened here?" He exclaimed, bounding further inside. Elly moved over to him in a moment, her eyes starry and absolutely devoid of thought. Irvine shook his head and pantomimed sticking a gun in his mouth. He pulled the "trigger" when she sighed dreamily. For once Seifer agreed with the lean cowboy. He nodded curtly at him, then drew his best defensive wall up around his emotions.

Which lasted about two seconds. Not bad. A new record.

"Where's your help, Chicken wuss?" Seifer snorted. "I know you couldn't have fought all the monsters yourself out there." He seethed inwardly. She had almost been thinking about a date with him. She was attracted to him; he knew that. It was Zell Dincht that got in the way...always in the way!

"What did you call me?!" Zell drew himself up, trembling with rage. "I told you not to call me that again, asshole!" Elly stood between both boys, her eyes wide. Seifer chanced a quick look at her and then decided he would poke the younger boy again. Just to make her realize how little he thought of her. Seifer really believed Zell cared less for the girl than his hoverboard. It was obvious to everyone that he hadn't a clue of her feelings for him, anyway.

Maybe she'll give him up and go with me if she sees that, he thought, and smiled dangerously at the fists that were flying inches away from his face. Zell stopped throwing punches and raised an eyebrow. "Could you excuse me a minute, Chicken wuss?" He bent and retrieved his pants, which were puddled around his ankles. The martial artist's eyes widened as he watched him pull them up. Elly's face grew bright red as she imagined what Zell could be thinking. Her mouth opened...then closed. Finally she pointed at Seifer with a shaking finger.

"They both got hurt and I had the spells to..."

"Much better," Seifer yawned, stretching. He deliberately ignored the flaring pain when he moved and walked as casually as he could to Zell's side.

"What's...?" Zell looked to Irvine for an answer. The sharpshooter was shaking his head in disgust.

"Seifer, man, that's really not cool," he murmured. He popped the ten gallon hat he wore up with one finger. "You know that's..."

"What the fuck was going on here?" Zell blurted.

"Your girlfriend was just tending my wounds," he said calmly. He ran a hand through his hair and raised his eyebrows innocently.

"Girlfriend?" Zell stared stupidly at Elly. Her eyes were even wider, her face mortified. "She's not my..." Seifer smirked when he saw her face fall. They hadn't gotten that far yet, obviously. And maybe wouldn't ever if he kept at it like this. Besides, he would be better for her than Chicken wuss anyway. He hadn't counted on her reaction, however. Irvine was faster than any of them and saw the impending flight in her eyes before she even moved.

"Don't!" He shouted quickly. He lunged at Elly, but it was too late. She darted out the door out into the dangerous training area.

- -

"Are you proud of that, Seifer?" Irvine spat in the general direction of his feet. "You're sick, man."

"What?"

"Where'd she go?" Zell scratched at the back of his neck. "The frig's with that, Seifer? You know I'm not seein' anyone. Had to go to that dance last month by myself." He stared at the back of the massive door in wonder. "And you busted up on me for it."

"Get her!" Seifer yelled. "Out! Quick!" He turned to move and pain bloomed in his wounded thigh. He clutched at it, falling to his knee and grimacing.

"We fought one of the toughest T-Rexaurs I've ever seen," Irvine explained to Zell. He pointed at Seifer. "She cured us with a lesser spell." He poked Seifer with his boot, causing him to fall down all the way. The bigger boy grunted and only managed to get partially up. "You ungrateful bastard. She was hurt too, you know. She's not in the condition to fight anything now." He limped to the door and opened it. "Especially since she didn't use any of the cure on herself." He shouldered his gun and walked out, letting the door slam behind him.

"Elly?" Zell said.

"C'mon, Chicken wuss! Move!" Seifer groaned. "She's gonna get hurt!"

Outside in the lush, overgrown training area, Elly pelted off as hard and fast as she could, rushing for the main doors. She ran blindly, sobbing as she went, not caring about the branches and vines that stung her neck, face and legs. Thus it was that the sudden growl that broke the stillness of the center caused her to start violently. Bleeding from various thorn scratches and dazed with anger and shame, she turned around and faced the monsters that were about to attack her. She quickly counted seven grats - plantlike creatures that used status abnormalities in their attacks. Elly raised a hand to quickly shield herself from their magic, but four tendrils snaked out from every side and knocked her sprawling on the moss. She struggled to get to her feet, but yet another cast sleep at her. She blacked out, one hand clutching at the ground, lying facedown in the thick carpet of moss.

"You want an ass kickin' don't you!" the massive shout echoed throughout the center. Zell quite literally flew through the air and landed on one of the grats, knocking it down. He kicked at it and then flipped backwards over to where Elly lay. "Wha? Hey, wake up! This ain't the time for a nap!"

"Zell - you have any esunas?" Irvine appeared, squeezing off a bullet at one of the creatures. He barely dodged a whipping vine and half ran over to where the tattooed young blonde crouched.

"As if. I used em all up getting here." Zell shrugged. "Watch your back!" He jumped up and punched another vine away. "Can't leave her. They'll attack until she's dead." He pulled the sleeping girl into his arms. Irvine snapped several shots off, killing one of the beasts. The others creeped slightly back, as if pondering their next move.

"Hurry up, Zell! They're thinking this over..!"

"I ain't gonna let her get hurt any more!" Zell frowned and lifted her up all the way, standing with her propped against his side.

"Neither am I!" Seifer suddenly appeared, swinging his gunblade ferociously. He swung at the tendrils blocking his way, pointing at Zell his free hand. "Summon your GF, ass! Clear these and then we can make it!"

"Won't work. I had to use him too much...before," Zell admitted sheepishly.

That was an understatement, young master, Quezacotl moaned inside his head.

"He just confirmed that," the tattooed boy grunted.

"No GF's, no good magic, one down and two almost out of it," Irvine grumbled. "Just grab onto me and we'll all run!"

"Fuck," Seifer stated blandly. He didn't want Kinneas helping him, but didn't see any other way. He made his way over as fast as he could and they all ran for the door. The grats tried to follow, but Zell blocked any of the attacks their way until the main doors closed after them. All three boys heard several thumps on the back of the heavy metal. They stared at each other.

"Close," Irvine said sagely.

"Wake up!" Zell was shaking Elly gently. "Why'd you run out like that anyway?!" Irvine shook his head.

"That's Seifer's fault." He looked around for the young man, but he had slunk quickly out the hall, most likely heading for the infirmary.

"Seifer's a moron," Zell growled. He slung the girl around so he held her in his arms instead of on his hip. Her brown locks hung limply down away from her pale face. "Why'd you take the library girl with ya?" He asked curiously as they followed in Seifer's tracks. Irvine watched Zell closely. He was wiping some of the blood from her face away with a careful finger. She had thin cuts running across her face from the thorny vines.

"She's a good fighter."

"I never fought with her before." Zell shrugged.

"Well, has she ever even talked with you?"

"A little. Oh, and one of her girlfriends asked me like, a bunch of questions a few days ago." Zell stepped through the last door. Irvine followed and they were finally out of the Training Center completely. Students bustled by, staring curiously at them. "Do not go in there," Zell told a hulking young brute and his girl all ready to rush inside. "It ain't worth it."

"A bunch of questions?" Irvine covered a smile with the back of his hand.

"What I like to eat, my favorite colors an' stuff like that."

"Zell," Irvine sighed, "Didn't you find that odd?"

"Nah - errr -- hey, why? Should I have?" Those innocent hazel eyes focused in on the cowboy. Irvine burst out in laughing.

"She wants you, man!" He managed to choke through the laughter. "It's classic!"

"You would know." Zell rolled his eyes. "Mister 'I have a date every second'."

"Listen. The girlfriend getting all the info, the way she's always around you..."

"She does show up a lot, huh." Zell started to think about it.

"...she always stares at you..."

"Huh?!"

"Yeah, man."

"That was that her crying in the...?" Zell's lower lip pushed out in a thoughtful kind of pout. When he had rushed out of the door to step back out in the training area, he had heard the sound of someone sobbing. He hadn't given it a second thought until now. Irvine nodded.

"I'm just guessing. But look at her, Zell." He pointed at her eyes. Trails of wetness still gleamed on her pale cheeks. Zell's face blanched.

"I didn't, I mean, ack! How was I supposed to know?" He stepped back when she stirred in his arms. "She's wakin' up! Irvine!"

"Don't look so scared!" Irvine laughed. "You never had a girl before?"

"No!" Zell hissed. "What do I do, man? Help me! Quick!"

"You like her, Zell?"

"I think she's a babe! But how do I...!"

"Z - Zell?" Elly husked quietly. She peered about and found herself in his arms, held securely against his body. "Huh? Oh. Dreaming." She snuggled against the martial artist's chest and curled her arms around his neck, sighing wistfully. Her eyes closed again.

"Sleeping?" Zell had to bend to whisper in her ear. "No way! You're wide awake." Her ice-blue eyes snapped open immediately and her arms jerked away from his neck.

"Aaaaah!" She yelped. Zell almost dropped her in surprise, but he held onto the scared girl. That helped him, anyway. He saw she was as frightened as he was or maybe more. Irvine had hobbled his way the last few feet over to the Infirmary in the meantime. He shook his head laughingly at them just before he walked inside.

"Have fun, kids," he teased.

Both Zell and Elly ignored him.

"Unnh...ow. Zell, my head hurts." Elly whimpered a little and he saw with alarm that the grats had left one of their tendrils leeched onto her right temple. He quickly ran into the Infirmary.

- -

A short while later, he was carrying a sleeping Elly out of the Doc's offices. Her arms were wrapped trustingly around his neck. Zell walked steadily, although each glance from his fellow students had him turning a darker shade of pink. He saw Irvine waiting for him in the hall and flashed him a fanged grin.

"Irvine!"

"She all right?" The cowboy tipped his hat, peering closely at the pale girl's face. Zell nodded happily.

"Doc said yeah." He hugged her a little, then shyly glanced up at the sharpshooter. Irvine was chuckling.

"I guess this means you know what to do, huh?"

"Oh yeah."

The young men stared at each other for a brief span of time. Irvine winked slyly at the tattooed boy.

"Just don't let the sentinels catch you at it," he whispered.

"Kinneas!" Zell stumbled in shock. Irvine laughed, clapped a hand to Zell's back in lieu of goodbye and sauntered away.

"Geez, to think I'd really take advantage of her. 'Sup with that? That's like, Seifer - not me." Zell mumbled to himself. He checked the card the doctor had given him with her room number on it. "Here we are." Gently, so as not to disturb her, he placed her hand on the panel and the doors opened. Elly stirred in his arms as he walked slowly inside. Zell laid her on the bed and then turned to leave - but he noticed something on her desk. Moving quietly he stepped over and picked the piece of paper up. It was a photograph, actually - a classroom shot he barely remembered posing for. He hadn't even realized it had been her that had taken it.

But there he was caught on film, running a hand through his hair and grinning wildly. His sharp canines peeked out through his smile, and he was giving a thumb's-up at the photographer.

"Sexy," a husky voice whispered from behind him. Zell jumped, dropping the photo.

"El?!"

"Well, that's what you look like," she shrugged fluidly. She was curled on her side on the bed, blinking at him sleepily. He could see she thought she was dreaming and he shook his head, raising his hand to her.

"Uhhh, Els, yer awake..."

"You just don't get it, do you? No, no, shut up - this time I'm gonna do somethin' about it before I wake up." She got up and threw her arms around him. Zell tried to speak but she touched the tattoo on the side of his face with her fingertips. He froze, hazel eyes widening. Something about her light touch...it was maddening to his senses. The blonde boy's eyes closed and he leaned his head to the side, closer to her hand. She responded by cupping his cheek and rubbing it gently.

"I always wanted to kiss this tattoo." She stood on her toes and placed her lips on his skin. Zell stooped so she could have better access, sighing lustily when she kissed a tight little outline of the tribal-like mark. When she finally released him, he set his teeth and gulped.

"You're awake," he told her firmly. "Snap out of it, Els. Ya gotta believe me, yo." He slipped his arms low around her waist and bucked gently against her, bringing her into contact with his body.

"What?!"

"Yeah?" he murmured.

"Oh my god, oh my god." Elly's face burned wildly. "I didn't mean to, uh..."

"Nah, it's okay. Really. I guess I sorta knew ya felt that way."

"It's not okay!"

"Wha? Whaddaya mean it's not? Don't ya like me?" Zell reached out and gathered her in his arms when she would have run away. "I'm just sorta nervous 'round ya. That's all."

"You're nervous!"

"Yeah..."

"Well, I'm petrified!" She twisted in his grip but he just stared down at her. "I'm not supposed to tell you! You - well, you were supposed to ask me out." Her blush deepened, but she went grimly on. "You never had a clue, Zell? I tried everything." He swore vociferously. Elly blinked at his use of language, but he was suddenly sliding his arms around her lower waist and kissing her neck. She moaned softly.

"What? Zell?"

"I get it, I get it!" he muttered. "Now I'm gonna do somethin' about it." He kissed her lips and she froze in place.

Zell was an impulsive young man. He'd always been, and now that he knew how she felt about him, he was throwing caution completely to the winds. He'd almost lost her today, and he didn't ever want to repeat that experience again.

"What are you doing?!"

"Shut up an' enjoy it," He grinned. His sharp canines flashed into view and she smiled. "I know I haven't told ya that I liked you, Els...but I do." He nipped her below the jawline and then grinned a little more shyly. "We're always apart and goin' on dangerous missions and stuff," he struggled to explain. "I don't wanna..."

"Whaaat?"

"C'mere an' shut it," he growled lowly. His gloved hands grasped the top of her head, gripping her hair in his fingers. Someone at the Infirmary had redid her hair, he noticed. He only to apply needed slight pressure to tilt her face towards his, as his other hand pulled her hair out of the new pigtail.

"Zell!"

"I toldya to shut it." His lips touched hers and she gasped. Zell flicked his tongue out and stabbed delicately, entering her mouth for a sweet kiss. Elly swooned against him, closing her eyes and letting him take the lead. The martial artist drew back a little bit, but she followed as if drawn to him. Zell sighed, opening his eyes to stare at her as their tongues played gently against each other. Her face was flushed and small teardrops stood at the corners of her eyes. The dark brown hair he had just pulled free hung down her back, but two little strands curled cutely down by her ears. He fingered one wonderingly as they continued to kiss. Elly reached up with a shaking, nervous hand and touched his spiky bangs.

"Mmm!"

"Mmhhh?"

"What do you use in that hair? It's a stiff as a rock!"

"That's not the only..."

"ZELL!"

He chuckled.

"Here, let me show you something..." His hand grasped hers and led it down to his chest. Their eyes met and continued to hold as he trailed her fingers down his tight black tank top. She thrust her hand down with the intent to take his jacket off, and he giggled. "Hey! Watch it - I'm ticklish."

"That's really kind of sweet, you know?" Elly breathed. "...everywhere?" she asked laughingly.

"I dunno." Zell's hazel eyes widened.

"Well, let me take this off." With Zell's help she wriggled the leather jacket off of him, staring closely at it. Black sleeves with blue flames etched along the sides, red leather on the front. She sighed. Never had she thought she'd be getting this close to it. He grinned as she hugged it impulsively.

"That's better," he sighed. His arms drew her close again. Elly was fingering the odd straps on his tank top. It was more like a muscle shirt, with ribbing on the chest and metal buckles on the straps. A small metal plate was sewn across the front, no more than a finger's length and width in size. This whole interesting tank was tucked into his baggy denim shorts. He wore them skater-style, several sizes too large, and they were held securely in place by a black leather belt. A pleasant little thrill ran down her back as she wondered what kind of underwear he wore.

"What'cha thinkin' about, beautiful?" Zell's laughing voice broke her reverie. Elly stepped back and held her arms out to him.

"Pick me up again?" She asked shyly. He bent and scooped her in his arms quite easily. She giggled girlishly with sheer delight. Zell pressed his mouth against her throat as he carried her over to her own bed.

"You need your rest, y'know," he coughed uncomfortably.

"Yes, but..."

"I - I'll stay if ya want."

Her answering smile was like the sun coming up.

"Yeah," she agreed. "I want."

"But, rest ya hear? Doc told me y'need all the rest you - you can, uh..." He trailed off as she pulled him down with her and snuggled up against him. "...get," he finished lamely.

"Zell?"

"Wha?"

"What was it you wanted to show me before?" Elly let out a sleepy little yawn. The young man took her hand and curled it against his chest, holding it against his heart.

"Somethin' like this, girl," he whispered. "Just somethin' like this."

Cool Pool Waters

"Cool Pool Waters"
orig. 4/17/2008
Zoro x Elly
One Piece

.
.
.

Elly chose her outfit that night with some care. The night dress she was wearing was a light purple, lighter than her hair and trimmed with soft white lace. The spaghetti straps hung loosely on her pale shoulders and she had spritzed some of her favorite lavender perfume lightly on her neck. The smell drifted around her in a delicious misty cloud as she took her robe off the hanger and slipped it on. The robe was a filmy little thing, designed to cover most of her nudity but still designed to look appealing. She didn't want to wander around the corridors flaunting herself the way Nami did, but she enjoyed looking feminine sometimes. Hell, why not? Besides, it was late and she had previously never encountered anyone wandering around at this hour. She just wanted to look at the stars and feel pretty.

She opened the door and padded softly down the hallway on slippered feet. When she was about halfway to the main door she heard a faint creak in the floorboards, the wooden planking giving way to a heavier tread. She jerked around, eyes wide. She smelled steel.

"Where you going?" Roronoa Zoro stepped out from the shadows, eyes half-lidded with amusement. Elly blushed bright red when she saw his gaze flick down her body and back up. He raised an eyebrow as he leaned on the wall close by her.

"I'm... hungry?" She grinned weakly. Damn it. She'd never even tried to think of a plan if one of the guys was awake. It certainly felt ridiculous standing there with the big man so painfully close. Plus, everyone knew Sanji had a lock on the refrigerator door. She could actually feel the warmth of his heavily-muscled body, he was so near. Zoro rubbed at the back of his neck, staring at the kitchen door so far away. He looked back in her eyes again and said not a word.

"Really," she stammered. She tried to edge away but he amazingly placed an arm on the wall next to her means of escape. Elly started to sweat, her eyes starting from her head. Oh. Oh, shit... She tried to move the other way and he stepped in front of her, placing another hand on the other side.

"So am I." She didn't have time to think of what he could mean before darkness descended upon her. He moved quickly, his head and body blocking out the faint light of the sconces on the walls and pressing his mouth to hers. Elly's eyes widened further in shock. She stared into his, so calm and dark and self-assured as he kissed her. It took her a moment before she could pull herself together enough to break away with a shivering wrench. Zoro raised his thumb to his mouth and lazily slipped his tongue out, touching it to the tip. Without saying another word he reached out and touched the same thumb to her lips, gently stroking. The thumb slipped to the corner of her mouth and rest of his hand joined it, curling about the side of her face as he leaned forward again. Hectic patches of color had risen in her cheeks and her chest was rising and falling rapidly as she gasped for air. Zoro looked down at her heaving cleavage and she choked with embarrassment.

"I didn't think anyone would be up." She groaned inwardly at her choice of words. "Awake," she clarified as he rumbled with amusement.

"I wasn't." He stepped back and rolled his shoulders, yawning. "Not really." He pointed back at the bathroom, one of which was located at the bottom of the long stairway up to his room at the top of the mast.

"Great," she said sourly. "Caught because you had to take a leak." Zoro stared at her, surprised, then burst out laughing. Elly ran a hand through the purple wings of her hair and frowned. "That's funny?"

"Only because that's not what I was doing." He grinned impudently at her.

"I'm not even going to ask." She ran a hand over her eyes, sighing. "Really."

"What were you doing?"

"I just wanted to go outside." She dropped her hand and looked longingly at the door that led to the main deck.

"Want to go for a swim?"

"In this?!" She opened her eyes very wide. "What - wait!" He snickered and hauled on her arm, dragging her down the corridors to the pool outside. There was no denying it was a beautiful night; the stars were twinkling brightly above and the water was lapping peacefully at the great ship as they sat in anchor. But Elly wasn't noticing any of these things right now. Zoro caught her arm in one hand and tugged her towards him.

"No one's there," he murmured, pointing at the still waters of the mini pool. "I thought you wanted to be alone."

"Are you mad?" Elly shrieked softly as he boldly cupped her silken rear in one large hand. "You don't even have a swimsuit on!" She struggled to pull herself together enough to resist or something. He was so close and his body seemed to burn with heat. His smell was intoxicating and she knew that she wasn't going to run. He'd trapped her here although the door was open and she could easily get to it in a few steps. Mesmerized, she watched as the swordsman removed his offending hand and wandered over to the built-in pool, almost absently shedding clothing as he went. His striped shirt was first, then his haramaki, his pants. He wasn't wearing his boots and when he turned around again to face her the only thing he had on was a pair of green shorts. His chest rippled impressively as he beckoned to her.

"C'mon," he grunted. "Wait, I forgot that cats don't like water...?" The little jibe was all she needed. Elly's eyes narrowed and she marched over to him and lightly into his arms. Zoro grinned and stepped off the edge to land squarely in the pool before she was even undressed. Her slippers literally flew off her feet as they both plumped into the cool water. She wriggled in his grasp until she was facing him, beating his chest with a tiny, impotent fist.

"Roronoa Zoro!" She spluttered and coughed, acting almost like the cat she sometimes was.

"Shut up. You'll wake them."

"I'm soaked! I don't care!" Zoro sighed and lifted the hem of her thin gown, now nothing but a sheer coating on her pale skin. Damn. His face burned with passion but all he did was raise an eyebrow sardonically at the trembling woman.

"Really." He laid back and stroked to the far side with her on his massive chest. Elly pouted, crossing her arms and shivering. It wasn't really that cold but the shock of the water and his unexpected advances had finally gotten to her. His hands were immediately on her when he stopped at the edge of the pool, this time peeling off her gown entirely. "Better," he murmured.

"Damn it." Exasperated, Elly stuck her hands into the water and grasped the hem of the swordsman's shorts. His answering grin was wild, feral. He helped by raising his legs as she yanked them down, her bottom rising and falling on his lap in the water. "There, you big ass - how do you like it?"

"Come here," he growled, eyes sparkling wickedly, "and I'll show you." His hands shot up and his palms set on the back of her head, pushing her to him powerfully. Zoro raised his neck to meet her and kissed her, lips warm and soft despite his rough urgency. He paused and then she felt his tongue again, poking lightly at her own. The water settled and she fell lightly on his lap again, this time firmer than before. The firm length poking between her legs caused her to gasp in appreciation and he took the opportunity to deepen their kiss. Her head swam. She wasn't seeing anything because she had her eyes shut but that only heightened her other senses. Zoro's warm body, the lapping of the cool water that was heating up around them and the feel of his mouth and tongue. Below, his manhood pushed where it would without any guidance from him at all. He simply held and kissed her.

Water dripped ticklishly down Elly's back and she shook herself but then his hands were there, kneading, stroking. They found her bottom again and pressed it tightly against him, eyes questioning. His erection rubbed against her body but not inside, tantalizingly close. The kiss broke wetly and the swordsman rumbled low under his breath until she met his gaze.

"Well?" His body demanded attention and although he knew he could hold back - had to unless he wanted to shock and maybe even hurt her -- Zoro needed hto hear her say yes. He didn't want any misunderstandings; it was one thing to fool around but he wanted permission for sex.

"I guess you do," she panted, out of breath.

"What about you?" His voice dropped to a husky whisper. "I want you, cat." He slipped his tongue out and lapped some of the water and sweat from the corner of his mouth. "You have to tell me to stop." His rough calloused hands slipped up and down her back on either side, slowly gripping her waist and lifting her above his erect member. Elly swallowed past the sudden blockage in her throat which he promptly kissed. His mouth trailed down and then he kissed her shoulders, her breasts. His hands remained holding her gently in place but when she moaned when he licked her nipples he moved her downwards.

"Zorokun."

"Tell me no," he whispered seriously. "Tell me if you don't want me." Her open body rested lightly on the tip of his penis. "Cat..." His voice was strained. "Tell me quick." Elly looked down through the rippling water. She couldn't see him that well. He felt large and very ready, though. She took a deep breath and spread her legs a little wider, pushing herself down on the soft head.

"Yes," she said. And Zoro's reaction was priceless. His teeth clacked together as all the muscles in his lower stomach fluttered and began to burn. The world around him darkened for a moment, darker than the night all around them in the moment of penetration. Ecstasy! He was inside a woman, maybe only for the second time but this was the woman. Not just "a" woman. His woman. These thoughts blazed in his mind and he could only thrust his hips up to meet her tentative push.

Elly wondered what he was thinking. Zoro didn't speak but his face was a conflicting riot of lust, pain and pleasure as he began to buck inside her. She reached out during a moment of respite from the wild thrusting to touch his brow with a gentle hand. Those dark fighter's eyes popped open and he blew air forcefully out from between his clenched teeth.

"Wrong?"

"Nothing." She laid down on his front instead of sitting up on him. Zoro hissed; the new position caused his engorged member to slide partially out of her body. But he was silent after she slipped a pair of wet arms around his neck. His hands trailed up her back to hold her, hugging lightly.

"Neh..." His breathing hitched. She was kissing his thick neck, up towards his earrings. The fluttering touches were causing a reaction in his chest and groin that he thought impossible. Without moving, she was going to send him spiraling right over the edge. His manhood throbbed, the pressure building irresistibly. "Wait," he ground out nervously.

"Zoro?" Her soft, concerned purr in his ear did it. It was his name. Elly rarely spoke it, preferring to use that dumbass nickname Sanji had given him instead. He gasped and dropped his head, shaking all over, spraying water from his short cropped hair. She clung to him, eyes wide. Was he...? Was he growling her name, the syllables snapping shortly off because he was so choked with pleasure? She stared at the top of his head, the green hair cutely ruffled in places and wet in others. It didn't take but a moment before he was slipping his hips backwards, the water automatically circulating and freshening around them. Elly swallowed hard at the strange feeling of loss. She had been full of Zoro before and now there was only her own sex, needy and yearning for completion.

"You'd cramp up," he mumbled, sensing her confusion. "Can't stay like that." His hands didn't leave her waist, though. "Ah," he cleared his throat, "Do you want me to touch you?"

"Oh." She hadn't orgasmed and he knew it. Still, she was close, her body thrilling to the sights and sounds of him in his final throes of pleasure. And he had felt so good inside her...she nodded. Then she blushed when he forced himself to look up, realizing he couldn't see the nod. "Whatever you w-"

"No." He grasped the back of her neck and drew her close to him. She stared into his flashing eyes, so near to her own, a little frightened before he kissed her. "Not me. You. Whatever you want."

"Kiss me again," she whispered. He did; his mouth warm and lips surprisingly soft. "More," she moaned thickly, eyes closing in bliss. And he moved to the side of her neck and did it again. He kissed her chin. The underside of her throat. Between her breasts. All the while she sighed and whispered encouragement. Zoro picked her up and placed her above him on the deck, nestling between her legs and gently spreading them with both hands. The position was excellent, the usually taller swordsman could kiss her thighs and more like this. Elly sank her nails into his shoulders and whimpered. "Wait..."

"But you like my kisses." He licked up the side of one shivering thigh. The leg jerked but didn't pull away from his lingering lips and tongue. "I have better ones. Only for you." He chuckled when she wiped at her eyes with the back of one hastily raised hand.

"You don't talk like this," she said meekly.

"Not for anyone else." Zoro was highly enjoying himself now. He used two fingers to pull her warm folds apart and peered at her sex, trying to find what he wanted. Right before he decided where to kiss he looked up at the blushing woman before him. "There isn't anyone else." He slipped his tongue out and delicately lapped, nuzzling earnestly. Elly's hands immediately went to the back of his head and began lightly gripping his hair and stroking it. He grinned inwardly. He could feel the tension in her fingers and how she wanted to pull him closer. Encouraged, he moved up and kissed the slippery skin as best he could. He grew greedy for her moans and gasps and began using his finger as well as his mouth, rolling the pad around as his mouth sucked gently and his tongue laved the one spot that caused her to grow louder. The tiny little button of flesh was soon drenched in fluids, her personal lubricant and his own additions. Now she was tugging on him, trying not to but doing it all the same, her hips moving as she tried to get his tongue to slide over the perfect little spot that would cause the fire to burn away in her belly. Goaded by her actions, Zoro wrapped one of his hands around his flaccid member, flogging gently and trying to urge another erection. He wanted to be inside her when she came. Even if he didn't come a second time he wanted it for her.

"Can you wait?" He rumbled hoarsely.

"Wh - wait? What?" She took a deep breath and stared down at him.

"I can," he panted, hand moving faster on his slowly firming penis, "do it again." Her eyes widened as she realized what he was suggesting.

"Oh!" Her wet lavender hair dripped down her neck and chest.

"You want it?" He fixed her with a determined, steely glare. There was something more than smoldering lust in his eyes as he looked at her.

"I want you," she said weakly. "Just don't stop touching me."

"Aa," he agreed, and before he moved to do so he dipped his head under the water, cleaning his mouth out. Rivulets trickled and ran down his tanned face when he popped back to the surface, shaking his head to clear the water from his eyes. His hand settled back between her thighs and teased her while he readied himself. Elly closed her eyes and bit her lips, trying to stave off the pleasure nibbling at her lower belly. And then suddenly, so suddenly that she didn't have time to cry out, Zoro jumped. He slid up onto the wet decking like he was some kind of trained animal at a water show, pushing her backwards and looming above her. His arms curled about Elly protectively, nestling and supporting her so she wouldn't lay entirely on the hard wood.

"Yes...yes." Oh, this time his entry caused a rubbery wave of delight to spasm through her. His manhood pressed carefully, not too slow or fast and he was soon thrusting in a steady rhythm. Zoro bent his head and kissed her lingeringly, watching her the whole time.

"Promise me," he said at last. The vibration of his speech thrilled her swollen lips and she mumbled something agreeably. "Sleep with me tonight. Don't go back to your own room." He slowed his pace and kissed her again before she could reply, long and slow and deep. Elly's eyes glazed when their lips parted.

"Zoro," she gasped. "Why...?"

"You're warm," he said quietly. His arms tightened momentarily about her then relaxed again. "Maybe I want to hold you more." She swallowed. The thought that crossed her mind wasn't entirely holding. Laying in bed after two bouts of incredibly strong lovemaking, his arms around her and his chest rising and falling with drowsy, sated passion.

"Holy shit," she whispered. She jerked forward, pressing her face in the crook of his neck. Her hands balled into fists and then flexed out, nails digging in the swordsman's slick, tanned skin. He growled, arching his powerful back and thrusting as deeply as he could while she trembled, inside and out. It was good - almost too good. Her own hand couldn't compare to what the big man had teased out of her. Wave after wave caused her to tense until the passion slowly died down.

"Stupid cat," he choked softly.

"Mff." She wouldn't bring her head up from his neck. "You want to cuddle, don't you?" He placed a hand on her cheek and urged her to look at him. "Zoro?" Her lavender eyes were shiny and still partially misty from her orgasm. He blushed, wincing. Shit.

"So what," he grumped. Elly smiled shyly and held her arms out.

"I'm all wet."

"So'm I." He slid himself from her body and looked around. Her gown was too drenched and so were most of his clothes. Zoro considered, then flung his shirt about her shoulders. "That's big enough to cover all of you." He stood while she was buttoning some of the front and yanked his pants on, grimacing at the wet patches on both knees. The big man bent to scoop the rest of their damp clothing in one arm and Elly in the other. She closed her eyes, content, and let him carry her where he would. They hadn't gone far before he was setting her down, though.

"Mmm?"

"Just sit." He motioned and she sat without looking.

"Oh, the bathroom." Zoro was throwing their clothes in the hamper and digging in the cabinets. He took the largest towel out and wrapped it around her, fluffing it on her smooth skin. She grinned and let him dry her off. He looked so embarrassed but determined, blushing, his face burning with and brow drawn low over his forehead with concentration. Though they had just been intimate with each other this was different and the big man knew it. The sex had been excellent, but the care and effort he was putting into drying her spoke more of love than lust. She smiled and placed a hand on his dripping shoulder.

"Eh?" She took the towel and pulled it, returning the favor and lightly passing it over his chest. Zoro blinked, opened his mouth as if to say something but then closed it.

"Are we dry enough? Wait, do you even have a bed in that room?" Elly touched her slicked-back purple hair and stared up at him. The big man grinned as he picked her up.

"Have one," he told her, opening the door and stepping out into the hall.

"I thought it just had cushions around it..." He bundled her against him a little tighter and began the long walk up all those stairs. His response made her stomach flip with nervous excitement and joy.

"You have me," he snorted. "I'm all you need."

When they had decided to spend the night together the Gym Leader smiled and led her further down the hallway. It was beautiful in its own way, not like anything she'd seen before. The walls were barren except for the occasional light held by industrial steel shades shaped like bolts of lightning. Along the floor ran a carpet that was so soft it seemed this path was scarcely trodden. The new plush was a rich, dark blue color flanked with embroidered sparks and electric pokemon in a much lighter hue.

"I've never seen the inside of a Gym," she commented quietly. Volkner held her arm in his and he seemed reluctant to give it up. They walked closely together, hips brushing occasionally.

"This isn't something anyone but myself and my gaurd trainers see anyway," he admitted. "The actual Gym is a maze of gears and electric switches, held together by giant steel girders." He smiled faintly. "It amused me to build the plans while I was sitting there at the end waiting for anyone to come challenge me."

"Which not many did?"

"And those that did didn't last very long. Most of them," he corrected with a low laugh. "I met someone recently that caused all my pokemon to faint." They had kept walking and reached a door flanked by two of those lights at the end of the hall.

"Your home?"

"Welcome," he said simply as he opened the door with a key card. Elly looked around and saw a desk with some paperwork strewn about on it and a door leading off to the right. "This is the room some have seen," Volkner told her. They had separated when he unlocked the door and he strode over to the right and opened the other one.

"This is what no one enters." He took his jacket off, slung it over his arm and gestured politely for her to enter first. The inside was cheerier than she had expected, with a wide window facing the ocean behind the Gym. The window was open and the dark curtains drawn back, flooding the room with the soft lights of the town below. It wasn't all the way dark yet but she could see the shape of the moon, a tiny glowing crescent in the sky. There was a rectangle shaped area rug in the middle of the room that led to an open doorway. She could see a sink inside and sighed with pleasure. She could really use some freshening up now that she was felt better and her stomach was full.

Volkner was already ahead of her. The man had thrown his jacket over a chair, had stretched comfortably but been watching her when she entered. He had seen her eyes widen with happiness at the sight of the bathroom. An opportunity I can't pass up, he thought with a warm flush in his belly. Not being used to the climate she must have become tired and hot again after their walk from the restaurant back here. Elly followed curiously and saw he was turning on the taps in the shower, testing the water with one hand.

"Is this cool enough?" He asked calmly. Her violet eyes darkened further when she realized he would probably join her. The thought was intriguing. She stepped closer and let the water flow over her palm, shivering at the delicious feeling.

"Wonderful," she murmured. Volkner stepped close and slipped his arms around her waist.

"The shower is big enough for two."

"I can see that."

"Would you mind terribly if I joined you?" The slender blond man bent and kissed her before she could answer, a serious kind of kiss this time. Elly's heart pounded and her breath caught in her throat. Although he said it had been a long time since he'd been with anyone he was intuitive and kind. That he wanted pleasure but was willing, even eager to give it in return was obvious in his lingering motion. His lips brushed hers like before but his mouth opened and he tilted his head, nuzzling and gentle. He kept at this until she sighed and tightened her light hold around his neck, hands running through his spiky hair. Then his tongue slipped inside and they stayed that way for some time. When she broke apart he didn't immediately pursue her but raised an eyebrow.

"If the shower's big enough," she said quietly, "I don't mind at all."

"Ah." Volkner's features lit up. His eyes were mesmerizing: a sparkling, snapping blue that contrasted his gold hair so well that it was striking. She wondered why he didn't have many paramours. When he looked at her the way he just had he was amazingly handsome. She considered him as he rummaged around in a lower cabinet, producing towels for them. Light build, probably appeared slimmer than he actually was with his black shirt and pants. She blushed a little harder when she tried to imagine what he had for her. The slacks hid bulges well, she couldn't see much and it was intriguing. Not that this mattered; Elly had long figured out that size meant nothing in sexual matters. Others could put a great store by it, usually men, but if the partner wasn't too lazy to work for it that was all that mattered.

In the meantime he had placed the folded towels on the counter and was stretching again. He didn't glance directly at her but one of his eyes closed in a slow wink. Elly giggled. He reached up and pulled off his shirt the next moment, exposing a tanned chest that was only lightly dusted with blond hair in the very middle. She responded by untying the knot in her blouse and slipping it over her head. It didn't take long before they were both standing before each other in their underwear - his briefs and her panties and bra. They faced each other, their eyes burning over the body before them. His face was serious to the point of being solemn and she held back a grin. He broke out into a light laugh and hugged her to his warmth and firmness. Without the clothing she could feel him everywhere and he could her. Volkner hummed appreciatively, closing his eyes as he felt her move against him.

"You feel great," he panted.

"Hm," Elly responded with a small kiss on his neck that caused him to shudder. "So do you. And you smell great..." She always liked personal scents and Volkner's was crisp and natural, the heady aroma of a summer storm. Her light touches all along his neck seemed to inflame him.

"Oh, yes." He gasped when her hands slid along his back to take his briefs off. Fingers tucked under the thick elastic band and he tried hard to regulate his breathing so he wouldn't faint. The touch she had! Maybe it really had been too long but her fingers trailed sparks down along his hips as she carefully dragged the cloth down. She even knew to raise up a little when she got to his erection and there was no awkward moment when he got caught on the cloth. Good, they were gone and he stepped out of them at last. Elly didn't reach for his firm length yet, in fact they were still close together and she couldn't see him fully anyway. The next thing she knew his hands were unhooking her bra and the silk fell to the ground with a slithering sound.

"Volkner," she whispered as his hands found her breasts.

"The shower... yes." He kissed her again and stepped regretfully back. She arched her back and pulled her own panties down, facing away from him and towards the tub. He took the chance to stare closely at her naked body as she pulled the curtain back and entered. He waited until she seemed comfortable then followed. The water was cool but not cold, the pressure even as it flowed down their bodies. The tub area was indeed larger than a usual one with two seats on either end. A shower caddy hung on a suction cup on the far side.

"Your body is beautiful," Volkner whispered as he ran his hands down her stomach. "I'm glad you decided to share it with me even if it's only this one time." He looked up as Elly chuckled softly, her blush growing redder. Water dripped down his face and he winked one eye when a drop from the shower head splashed him unexpectedly.

"I haven't been told anything like that," she confessed.

"I speak what I think." He kissed the hollow of her throat, concentrating on the rise and fall of her shape.

"Don't I get to see you?" she grumbled but it was in jest for her face was clear and happy. She had never had something like this feel so good, so normal. And though she didn't know what would happen later she wanted to enjoy every minute of this. That meant taking in every aspect of his body as he had hers, her hands roaming his water-slick skin. Volkner shuddered violently when she cupped his rear in two hands and slipped underneath to gently massage the two tightly drawn sacs, bunched in readiness. He lapped at her skin, trailing down to her breasts but didn't get far when she gently stroked the underside of his blood-rushed penis.

"Sweetheart," he panted, "If you keep touching me I won't last very long." He sighed when her touch grew even more gentle, downright ticklish. His cheeks were stained pink, blue eyes squeezed tight. His breathing had roughened and he drew in great, tearing gasps as her fingers moved up, just under his navel. The water caressed their bodies, trickling down and sometimes causing them to wipe at their eyes or a long strand of hair that had fallen across their faces, lank and wet. His spiked hair had slicked down, some of the parts curling down his forehead like bangs. Her two purple locks swung about carelessly against her cheeks as he kissed her nipple. She called his name quietly. He kissed the crinkled flesh again and dropped a hand to touch her body below. Elly moaned this time, parting her legs willingly. Volkner's heartbeat sped faster when he heard her cries. He carefully rubbed the top of her open body in a circular motion, sometimes passing directly over the sensitive pleasure center and sometimes just below.

"Lover," she mimicked his tone even though her breath was ragged, "If you keep touching me I won't last very long."

"Mmm hmm," he breathed in agreement. He pressed against her with serious intent, rubbing on her thigh. "May I, then?"

"Did you bring..." Her words cut off as he produced a small packet. She smiled and nodded and the blond man lost no time tearing the tiny thing open and pulling the condom over his rigid flesh. "How do we do this in here?"

"Sit, beautiful." He ushered her to the far side where the seat protruded from the wall. It had a nonslip mat of some kind on the porcelain and wasn't as uncomfortable as it looked. She sat and opened her arms for him. His answering smile was like the sun coming up. "I want this to be good," he husked in her ear when their bodies entwined. "Tell me what you need when you need it."

"I need you inside me right now," she breathed back. "Right now. Slow."

"Slow," he agreed and tensed his body to push forward. The position was grueling, physically taxing but rewarding in its own way. His mouth dropped open in pleasure as his erection was tightly gripped in her warmth. He was angled so that he would rub her upper body with every stroke and she was shocked to feel her body pulling, burning, reaching that high she sought in only a few movements.

"Oh god," she cried out. "Deeper. Deeper, please! Quick." Her hands spasmed, digging nails into his back. Volkner whistled with pleasure, struggling to hold back for a few strong thrusts. His muscles surged and rippled as he embraced her, raining kisses on her face and neck.

"Make up," he gasped, "your mind." A wild laugh greeted this statement.

"It's so good," she whimpered. "Feels so good." Her comments were driving him nearly insane. He'd tried everything he could but now he began moving faster, whispering apologetically. She responded by wrapping her legs around his back as far as she could in this position. He groaned and shuddered when he felt her contract around him. Her whimpers merged into one long moan of pleasure that sent him careening off the edge, his essence spilling out in several bursts that left him speechless. Volkner let himself take two long, deep breaths before reaching down to grasp the end of his member. He pulled back carefully, holding the condom in place until he slipped out of her body.

"Whoa," he said shakily, steadying himself with a hand on the slippery tiles. She nodded, catching his arm.

"Careful."

"Heh." He winced as the condom caught when he pulled it off. There was a snapping sound and he bit his lip, eyes wide. "Ow, damn it."

"Did you hurt yourself?" Elly had been examining the items in the shower caddy. One soap and a body wash, besides shampoo. She turned quickly with the soap in her hand. The lithe man was shaking his head at her.

"No, that's the only reason I hate these things." He stood straight again. "I'm rinsed off already. Do you want me to stay?" His eyes were soft as he stared at her lathering her body. All those places he had just touched and kissed. His hands almost ached to hold her again.

"Mmm, I'm fine. Dry off and get into bed or something. I'd rather cuddle there." He grinned crookedly. She'd caught his intentions. He left her to bathe while he dried off and slipped a soft robe on. As an afterthought he took a spare out for her as well. A quarter of an hour later and they were laying on his king sized bed talking in low voices.

"Will you stay longer?" He cursed himself for sounding weak. He wanted this pale lady to be with him for awhile but her attitude suggested otherwise.

"I'll try," she said doubtfully. "I really don't want to go back. I don't have much of a home, but... I don't know." She wrinkled her forehead in exasperation. "I really don't know yet."

"It's all right," he shrugged ruefully. "I can't hold you here. But I'd like you to stay at least a little while."

Lu Bu. He was a giant of a man, both in his stature and physical prowess. The reigning warrior of Ancient China, he could defeat anyone he chose. Battle was one of his favorite pastimes but he also excelled in archery and horsemanship.

He was imposing.

He was undefeated.

He was annoyed.

"What is this?" The big man looked down from the battlements of the castle he had taken for himself a year or so ago. "There's too much noise down there." He had been talking with his tactician when he'd heard a commotion outside. One person was facing off against three down there. As they watched, the one spun about and executed a masterful series of quick slashes with what appeared to be a whip. Lu Bu frowned. He had considered that a feminine weapon but his best warriors were laying in heaps down there. The woman raised her face and yelled something. Amazingly, her voice carried up to the mighty giant and his shivering adviser in the still mist of the night.

"Let me go in peace or fight me!"

"Is she serious?" He raised a bushy eyebrow. "Me? Fight a woman?" He roared laughter. The other man, Chen Gong, placed a cautionary hand on his lord's arm, however.

"She took down all your top warriors, Master Lu Bu." He pointed with a long finger. "When Daoi Chan's ladies heard what happened to her they all sat around and cried. All except this one. She stole off and tried to run out of the castle. Naturally the men thought it was a simple matter to chase her down." Lu Bu's face had hardened, frowning at the mention of his late wife. He walked back inside his quarters, Chen Gong following with a sigh.

"She did not grieve for her mistress after her passing?"

"What of that?" He stepped around the giant man carefully, trying to get at least one piece of heavy furniture between them. "You still need a woman at your side. This one is much more powerful than your last." Lu Bu's eyes narrowed dangerously and he leaped backwards with a terrified yelp.

"Leave me." The ebony shoulder plates lowered as he turned his back on his tactician.

"What of the girl?" Chen Gong asked, stroking his long beard nervously.

"I will test her myself, as she wishes." He picked up his doubled spear and shrugged his chest plate into place as he stood. It didn't take him long to get to the stables. He was boiling with anger at his men. A single woman had defeated all of them? What, were they worthless scum after all?
He thrust his jaw out pugnaciously. The great Lu Bu riding out like this to meet a woman! Pah! He vaulted into his saddle and rode out at a walk.

As he grew closer he saw some of the men getting up she had fought with and glared at them. They didn't need him to do so twice; most ran off, scurrying like the vermin they were. Red Hare snorted and tossed his head, cinnamon-colored mane whipping about his neck as his master paced him slowly forward. He was nervous. Lu Bu rode him to wars, crashing through people and fighting. This slow, deliberate walk was unlike anything he'd felt before.

And there she was.

The woman was no great beauty. While Daoi Chan had been famous for her flawless skin and graceful figure this one was not. She was smaller than he was but then again most men were small compared to his bulk. He guessed she was around the same height Daoi Chan had been but that's where the similarities ended. Elly had purple hair that was cut so short most men had declared it was scandalous. It did not flow down her back nor was it braided intricately so that it was pulled away. It was simply short - it looked almost like his did. The lavender hair winged off in the back and long, elven locks spilled down her cheeks to rest on her shoulders. She was extremely pale and her face had marks on it in some places, probably from fighting like a warrior rather than singing or dancing like the court ladies did. She wore no jewelry - again, such things would only hamper her fighting -- but had dark purple eyeshadow on her lids.

Lu Bu reigned Red Hare in and stared at her for a full minute. She watched him calmly, rolling her shoulders back and flicking the whip out. It was doubled, he saw now as he slid off the mighty war horse's back to face her. Two long, thin cords ran out from the base, studded over with steel tips. He didn't see how it could possibly hold up to his enormous doubled spear and he held his weapon up curiously. Would she run? Many grown men had (and did) at the sight.

"Flee, if you would save your pathetic life," he roared thunderously. But the light of battle was in the girl's eyes. He knew that look but was confused when he saw a tear slip down her cheek. Still she didn't falter, her expression did not change. Now, Lu Bu was not an intuitive man. He liked the feel of his weapon in his hands and the clash of steel on steel. To fight on a battlefield was all he thought he craved in life, to try himself against warrior after warrior. When the woman he had been with had died in battle he had been devastated but he'd tried to fill the void with more fighting. It didn't work so well. He wanted to feel the softness of a woman in his arms as much as the steel gripped in his hand. The old fool was right.

"Bah!" He swore and flung the weapon aside. He expected a fight when he reached forward to pull her to his side but she sagged limply. "Afraid at last, little warrior?" She imagined she heard contempt in his voice and snarled in quite an unladylike way.

"Don't mock me!" The big man started back, blinking with shock at the scratches he received on his face. She struggled but couldn't get free from his grip so he simply tightened his arm and gestured for one of the people of the castle to take Red Hare back to the stables.

"I do not." He paused in the act of half-dragging, half-carrying the now writhing woman in his arms. "You may fight me again tonight. There is no need for you to leave this castle." He walked through the gates and up the stairs, past the huge Chinese lions flanking the steps. Elly knew exactly what he meant and her throat closed tight with nerves. She wanted that. She didn't want to be just an object but oh god, she wanted that. She'd been one of the ladies sent by Cao Cao to wait upon his trashy little wife. Great beauty, indeed! Wonderful woman, right. She had hated that woman with a passion. The only reason she had been with her lord was so that Lu Bu would kill his stepfather, thus ridding the empire of that admittedly horrible man. Rumors of Lu Bu and Daoi Chan being affectionate weren't truly what they appeared to be; she would come home to her apartments and immediately bathe whenever she left him. Elly could only grit her teeth and bear the ridiculous pain of unrequited love.

"Where are we going?!" Of course he didn't answer her. She thought she knew, but she couldn't be positive. Maybe she had been slammed on the head when she was fighting. That seemed more likely. His arm was wrapped around her waist, pulling her through the halls as the servants stared, wide-eyed and incredulous. When he reached the ornate, gold-inlaid doors of his personal quarters she squeaked. She couldn't help it. The burly guards snapped to attention but couldn't help staring like the rest. They jerked their eyes back to where they belonged when the big man started giving orders.

"No one comes in unless I call for them!" He glanced around, mouth set and ice blue eyes dangerous. "I am not to be disturbed." He bodily picked Elly up and swung through, armor clanking. The doors slammed shut behind them and she was set gently down on a huge bed. It would have to be, she mused distractedly. Lu Bu towered above her at a whopping six feet, ten inches. He reached up and took his helmet off, the red feathered plumes bobbing airily about as he set it aside. Elly's eyes narrowed. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and slowly flexed her muscles, tensing in preparation for a sudden lunge. She wasn't sure what was going to happen yet and although she had loved her lord since she first saw him didn't want to be taken lightly. He whirled around and snatched her out of midair as she jumped, startling her once again. His armor clanged with the impact.

"Much better," he growled. "I thought you had lost all your spirit!"

"This armor..." She couldn't struggle when he had it on or she would be cut by the sharp metal. He stepped to the bed and set her on it. He said nothing but unlaced the pieces one by one, taking the black-enameled suit off. Elly swallowed hard. He wore padded linens underneath, the clothing stained in places with faint rust spots.

"It is gone." He grinned fiercely and reached for her without further ado, one hand catching in her short hair to pull her head back. His head was halfway to her own when she kicked him in the shin. He grunted and paused, giving her time to yank her head out of his tight grip. She lost some hair but got free for a moment. Lu Bu laughed aloud when she butted him in the chest. It was all she could do for he was holding her wrists, his legs pinning her to the bed. They railed against one another for a long time until Elly lay panting on the bed, exhausted from her efforts. There was no way she could fight him off anymore and if he chose to pursue her she would gladly accept his advances.

"No more play?" Lu Bu blinked calmly down at her, not in the least bit winded. Play! Damn it, that had taken everything out of her. She shook her head, swallowing hard.

"I'm tired."

"Too bad," he murmured, touching her cheek with an oddly gentle hand. "But do you want to fight this?" He arched over her and his mouth was claiming hers in a moment. He was as demanding as he was strong, firmly pressing lips that were soft and full onto hers and impatiently licking when she didn't open her mouth right away for his tongue. Her body shaking from exhaustion and the wild emotions running through her, she fixed her eyes on his light blue ones and parted her lips. He grunted approval and deepened the kiss, taking her hands in his and wrapping her arms around his neck. How he knew she wanted to hold him she didn't know or care; Elly finally allowed herself to completely relax and closed her eyes with a soft moan. She opened them a moment later when he asked her to.

"Lord Lu Bu?"

"That noise," he frowned. "Why did you make it?"

"I'm happy, that's all." She looked worried and he shook his head, placing a hand on her lips.

"Does something that simple give you such pleasure?" His great black brows were drawn together. He looked utterly perplexed. As tired as she was Elly cupped the back of his head in her hands, stroking the dark hair. He blinked. Now he not only looked confused but surprised. Out of his element, perhaps. She knew that his late wife hadn't loved him so he'd never experienced someone giving it back to him.

"Anything you do gives me pleasure, my Lord." The inflection she placed on the word 'my' was unintentional but noticeable. Perhaps it was because she was so dizzy with lust or maybe she wanted to push him and see how he felt. The end result was he heard and more importantly understood it. His expression grew even more determined, his eyes narrowing above the swatches of decorative red paint.

"Anything I've done?"

"Almost." Her mouth thinned and she turned her head so he wouldn't see the truth in her eyes. "Anything you do now does."

"Aaaahhh." He cocked his head and grasped her chin in one enormous hand, forcing her to look at him. "That was why you did not grieve like the others." Elly's usually pale face flushed with color. He tilted the other way, following her eyes as they darted around.

"I can't talk about that," she finally whispered. "Please don't make me."

"You are right. It matters not." The big man curled a palm around the side of her head, gently cradling it. Lu Bu felt justified; he had been captivated by the other's beauty and now this one was enthralled by him. He felt that this was how it should be - never mind the squirming excitement in his chest and lower belly! He would ignore it. When Elly leaned into his small caress his heart started to pound in a different way and he struggled to squash the odd feeling. The mighty Lu Bu had always treated the bedroom like a battlefield and all had gone well for him until now. But her skin was soft despite the thin scarring on her arms and her hands burned on the back of his neck. She clung to him in a way that Daio Chan had not unless she was trying to get her way. He growled lowly, deep in his throat and kissed her again. This time he ran a hand roughly over her side, groping her firm curves and grinning fiercely when she made that sound again. He liked it. His kisses grew wilder, his hands both exploring her body with calloused palms plundering her breasts and buttocks with equal vigor. Sandalwood burned in an incense holder off to one side of the bed and the heady scent coupled with his sweat and personal smell was driving her insane. She ran her hands across his back, ruffling the heavy linens he wore until he pulled back, eyes alight.

"Undress me," he commanded in a thick voice, placing her hands on his chest. She gasped but did as she was bid, pulling the thick cloth up and scrambling to climb up his body to pull it over his head. He laughed heartily and helped her by laying on his side so she could remove the top. Lu Bu lazily closed his eyes as he felt the light touches all over his chest. This was new as well. Never had a woman traced all the scars and kissed his body like this. It was like being worshiped and he liked that even more. His lower belly suddenly spasmed and he glanced down quickly, surprised. Her hands were splayed out below his belly button, tracing above the hem of the pants he wore. The rough fibers of the undergarments were such a contrast to her fingers that he shuddered.

"My Lord?"

"Don't stop," he growled brusquely. Her palm grazed the bulge in his shorts hesitantly and his husky voice grew deeper, louder. "There - right there. Touch me!" He caught her rear in one hand and yanked her as close as she could get to his giant warm body, curling around her and kissing her neck. Her hand pressed onto his firm erection and he hissed with pleasure as she slowly stroked. Amazing. His teeth closed on the tender flesh of her neck and she whimpered his name, inflaming him and causing him to bite harder than he'd intended. Blood trickled and he stared at it, mesmerized for a long, long moment. It was such a bright, rich red color against her creamy skin. Her hand had clutched his body below in a tight grip when he bit her and the combination of the sight of the blood and the intense grip below was enough. Lu Bu roared with passion like a wild animal, grabbing the women beside him and throwing her on the bed onto her back. His tongue lapped hungrily at the blood, cleaning the trickles off and soothing the sharp pain. Elly wheezed for air and barely found enough strength to keep breathing. His massive body was all over her, back arched and mouth working. His hands ripped her clothing off with no apparent effort, throwing aside scraps of silk and other fabric impatiently, wanting to get at her skin as fast as possible. He did the same to his bottoms, taking the linen in one hand and yanking it off with a bunching of those big arm muscles. It tore as easily as the silk had and he immediately pressed his naked body on hers for the first time, rumbling with lust.

He was hot.

It was as if the fire in his eyes was a tangible thing and had burned into his body. Elly was warm from her exertions and passion as well but he felt hotter to her shaking hands. And everywhere she touched was free from hair, though marred by various battle scars. His mouth dominated hers but she managed to let out a maidenly squeal when he moved from her lips to her breasts. His teeth nipped here as well, eyes glancing up to see if this was okay or not. He chuckled with delight, eyes widening when he felt her legs move underneath him. They twitched and parted at his faintest touch, opening for him and giving him access to what he desired.

"You're mine!" His shout was so loud, so triumphant one of the guards outside dropped his spear. The two men looked nervously at each other and then straightened, their faces burning. There hadn't been noise like that inside when the other lady was alive.

Inside the bed was a writhing mass of bodies. Lu Bu had thrust a hand between where their bodies joined, eagerly touching her open body. Elly trembled nervously. The women she worked with had chatted about sex and many claimed it hurt. Most of them had said it hurt a lot. Even so she desperately wanted him to take her. Her sex was slick and felt very plump as her lord toyed with it, running a finger along the folds. When he got to the top she cried out with astonishment, throwing her head back and tensing her legs around him. He raised an eyebrow at her reaction.

"Please, my lord!"

"Hold on to me, little one," he said in the softest voice she'd heard him use yet. His manhood rubbed at the place he'd found, the tip drenched in his personal lubricant and soon hers as well. Straining, he slipped the soft head over the button of flesh that caused her so much pleasure, shuddering. His heart pounded in his chest, sweat dripped down his body and beaded up in other places. The woman below him was pleading for him to take her, begging for his sex as she shook and trembled. Ah, he loved it. This was how it should be and it would be that way forever. "I will make you mine now," he rasped, thrusting himself into delicious oblivion. Lu Bu's harsh growls filled the room as he moved strongly inside her. His brows were drawn tightly together, eyes closed and teeth showing as he snarled. He was insane with freedom to love as he wanted; he didn't have to hold back for fear of hurting this lady. She rode what he gave her with equal passion, the shock and pain of him taking her maidenhead somehow adding to the growing coil of heat in her belly. The purple hair that wasn't stuck to her cheeks and neck with sweat flew about her face as she clung to him, hands slipping down to his rear. Her mouth opened and she inhaled sharply as she came, nails stinging his skin as she clawed frantically. The light scratches drove him over the edge and he shouted almost angrily, driving mercilessly forward like a madman until he was spent.

He didn't talk afterward nor had she expected him to. After he'd parted from her, he curled an arm around her sweaty body and kissed her lingeringly. When she asked if he wanted her to leave he shook his head and closed his eyes. That ended the conversation as far as he was concerned and Elly laughed to herself. She was more tired than he was, surely! She snuggled up to the big man and fell asleep wondering what tomorrow would be like.
