6-30-2020 Hizashi

Hizashi thrust his lower lip out in a mighty pout, staring at the mess on the counter in front of him. He was dressed in a hot pink tank top with flamboyant writing across the front that proclaimed: "<i>weapon of choice</i>" alongside a graphic of a turntable. He hadn't worn an apron and he regretted it now as he felt the sticky mess splattered all over him. Batter, frosting, and an egg he'd dropped on accident coated him from head to waist. He even had frosting in his pulled-back hair, though how he'd managed that he had no idea.

It had been worth it, however.

The cake was <i>stupendous</i>. It sat on a paper platter in the middle of the kitchen table, simple vanilla, but decorated in his girlfriend's favorite colors. Hizashi had used lavender and aqua frosting sheets on the sides to create tiny, overlapping circles that mimicked scales. Two cute fish icing decorations and a ton of heart sprinkles graced the top.

"Now I hafta clean this mess up before she gets home," he sighed.

Unfortunately, luck was not on his side. As soon as he grabbed the bottle if dish soap he heard the doorknob rattling. Hizashi's head snapped around.

"Waaugh!" He scrambled for the door but didn't make it. As Elly entered he looked more than a little silly with his hands thrown up in the air, laying on his belly on the hardwood floor in front of her. "Ahhh, crap, princess! I wanted this to be a surprise."

She blinked at him, covered in confectionary, then at the table where the cake sat. "Hizashi," she grinned widely, "This <i>is</i> a surprise! You made this?! I thought you only liked to eat sweets, not make them."

He got to his feet, groaning. "Oof. Yeah, well, I bake a little. Cakes aren't too hard..." She pulled a chair out for him at the dining table and he sat there biting his lower lip, his legs bouncing wildly about. "You really like it?"

"Yeah," she grinned hugely, throwing her arms around his neck. "I love it! Where did you get the idea?"

"Oh, um." He scratched his head, ruffling his hair a bit more and adding to the mess. "Like, you like <i>Wonderland</i> stuff, but I know you like the ocean, too, and I, uh, I got us VIP passes to the aquarium fo go with!"

Elly squealed with glee. "You're the best!" She kissed him lingeringly, mouthing his lips in the way she knew he liked. Hizashi groaned and kissed back, slow and sweet, so as to savor the moment.

"Mnn, baby, keep that up and I'm gonna want to give you your <i>other</i> present."

"Silly," she chided, slipping onto his lap and making him groan so loudly the vase on the table rattled. "I know what <i>that</i> is."

"Mnn - but you don't - <i>aah!</i> - know exactly how that's gonna - <i>ohhhh</i> - go down."

"Somebody's having a little trouble talking," Elly snickered. "What's wrong, Voice Hero? Cat got your tongue?"

"Oh, very fun - mmmph!" His eyes rolled back as she grasped the front of his shirt and kissed him senseless. "Mnnn... sm'psed t'be y'birday."

"Hmm?"

"I said," he panted, saliva dripping down his chin, "it's supposed to be <i>your</i> birthday. Mine's not for another, like, week."

"Can't help it," she sighed helplessly, walking her fingers down his chest. "You're so adorable, and you're covered in icing. I could just eat you all up."

Hizashi <i>whined</i>, closing his eyes with a strained frown pushing his small brows a long way up his forehead. "Baby <i>please</i>. You're killin' me here."

"Don't I get to unwrap something?"

Hizashi gave up. "You want me, you got me, babygirl," he said with a low chuckle. "Besides, all this better come off or we'll make an even bigger mess in the bedroom."

"Yay," she purred.

"I p - promise, whoa! That I'll clean up an' do the laundry later."

"Double yay." Clothing fell to the floor with a soft thump, and her purring grew louder as he groaned. "Happy birthday to me."
